Jessica Simpson hit the stage to perform for the first time in 15 years.

On Wednesday evening at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, the 44-year-old vocalist performed her most popular tunes, along with a few previews from her upcoming EP titled Nashville Canyon Part 1, by powerfully singing them.

In the midst of my performances, I took a moment to speak directly to you all. I shared that sometimes, I felt like an accidental outcome of popular musicians, but this time, it was crucial for me to recall my true identity and the reason I initially chose to use my voice in song.

Jessica accentuated her slender silhouette by donning a low-necked, chocolate-brown blouse and coordinating skirt, then completed the ensemble with a textured cream-colored suede jacket adorned with a fringe.

The show takes place a week prior to the release of her EP, Nashville Canyon Part 1, which is scheduled for March 21st.

15 years have passed since Jessica released her final album titled “Happy Christmas” on November 22, 2010.

Additionally, among her discography are the following albums: Sweet Kisses released in 1999, Irresistible from 2001, In This Skin dated 2003, ReJoyce: The Christmas Album launched in 2004, A Public Affair produced in 2006, and Do You Know that came out in 2008.

This month saw the release of Part 1 of her song titled “Departure from Nashville Canyon,” which hints at Eric leaving her. However, neither party has disclosed the specific reasons for their split after being married for a decade.

The words convey: ‘There was something enchanting between us, but now things have turned sad, as you offered her what you once offered to me. Now, the source from which you drew life seems to be depleted.’

In mid-January, Jessica said in a statement to People that her and husband Eric split.

Eric and I have been living apart, dealing with a difficult time in our marriage. Our priority is always our children’s wellbeing, and we are working towards what’s best for them. We are thankful for all the kindness and help we’ve received, and ask for privacy at this moment as we navigate through this challenging phase as a family,” she shared with the media outlet.

Jessica hinted at their split for months – and Eric was spotted in November 2024 without his ring.

In her Instagram post, she shared that her interviews took place in her Nashville music room – a place where she found and expressed her unique talent. She emphasized that this comeback is deeply personal, serving as an apology to herself for enduring things that she never deserved. Alongside the message, she posted a picture of herself in a recording studio.

In the year 2014, July marked the wedding month for Eric and Jessica, who had been together for a four-year courtship; their paths crossed through a common friend back in 2010.

The trio – a daughter named Maxwell Drew (aged 12), a son called Ace Knute (aged 11), and another daughter named Birdie Mae (5 years old) – were all warmly received together.
