Jessica Simpson is re-entering the beauty business.
The businesswoman, age 45, recently launched her first perfume in five years, called Mystic Canyon. It features a scent with notes of vanilla and orchids.
Jessica Simpson’s first fragrance, Fancy, debuted in 2008 and quickly earned $6.5 million in just eight weeks.
She’s aiming to recreate her previous success with Mystic Canyon, a fragrance available at JC Penney and on her website for $35 (30mL) or $60 (100mL).
As a huge fan, I really think this country singer could make ‘Mystic Canyon’ a massive hit! She’s incredibly popular online – she has around 10 million followers across all her social media. Her TikToks consistently get at least 100,000 views, and honestly, a lot of them go viral, racking up millions of views each time!
Her competition is Kylie Jenner, who now makes fragrances, as well as Ariana Grande.
This comes three years after Simpson saved her eponymous fashion and beauty brand from bankruptcy.

She’s also found success in business with her Jessica Simpson Collection, a popular brand selling shoes, handbags, and clothing.
Growing up, my dad was a preacher and we didn’t have a lot of money – he earned around $30,000 a year. I learned to be resourceful and find good deals at discount stores. I believed that if we could create high-quality products for people, we’d be successful, and that’s what drove me,” she recently shared with Business of Fashion.
Simpson hopes to make affordable beauty products for the ‘everywoman.’
Mystic Canyon is her first new scent since 2020.
Her fragrance evokes a certain feeling. People often tell her it feels distinctly American, but it’s not tied to any specific region or traditional country aesthetic – it’s more of a classic, all-American vibe. She created this fragrance line with everyone in mind.
She described it as having a subtly charming and down-to-earth vibe—something that makes you stand out without being too flashy.
I have a good feeling about returning to my tried-and-true methods. This feels right – it matches how I’m feeling emotionally, and that’s usually a sign of success for me.
Simpson shared with the publication that the challenges she’s facing are simply stepping stones on her journey to becoming a billionaire.
You know, I absolutely thrive on being the one people underestimate. There’s something really empowering about being the ‘little guy,’ because I feel like I have endless stamina and haven’t yet reached my full potential. I’m still hungry to prove what I can do, and that drives me forward.

She paused and then explained that, surprisingly, she wouldn’t have a business if she’d achieved all her goals as a celebrity. Essentially, facing some challenges actually helped her succeed.
I’m loving the look she debuted on Instagram – a stunning gunmetal gray sequin gown with some really chic cutouts! She shared that the inspiration behind her ‘Mystic Canyon’ collection actually came to her while working on ‘Nashville Canyon,’ and it really reflects who she is now. You can find ‘Mystic Canyon’ exclusively at JCPenney and on her website, jessicasimpson.com.
Parlux, the company that creates fragrances for celebrities like Billie Eilish and Drake, and previously made Simpson’s perfume line, is making this new collection.
This comes after she said she never imagined being ‘single again as a mom of three.’
The actress revealed she and Eric Johnson split in January after a decade of marriage, and she says she always expected to be married at this point in her life.
The popular singer, who shares three children – 13-year-old Maxi, 12-year-old Ace, and 6-year-old Birdie – with Eric, recently told People magazine that she often reflects on how life doesn’t always go as planned. She said she never imagined being a single mom of three at this point in her life, but she accepts it as part of her life’s journey.

Jessica says her new fragrance, Mystic Canyon, represents her personal journey of self-discovery.
She realized this period of her life was about finding herself on her own terms, free from other people’s criticism or opinions.
This project was ultimately about self-discovery and acceptance. It involved embracing my true self, being honest and open about my experiences, and expressing those feelings through music. That process, and incorporating it into everything I do, has been incredibly empowering.
Meanwhile, Jessica revealed in July that she was ready to start dating again.
I was so excited when Jenna Bush-Hager on Today asked if I was dating and if she could set me up! Jessica’s response was amazing – she basically said ‘Yes, please!’ She confirmed she’s single and totally ready to find someone. It was so refreshing to hear her be so open about wanting to date!
Jenna then asked what qualities Jessica looked for in a partner, wanting to understand her preferences. Jessica explained she wasn’t interested in a specific look or type, but rather someone genuine and authentic who was self-assured without being arrogant.
I’m looking for someone special, and I believe they exist. I’m self-sufficient and don’t require constant reassurance. Ideally, I’d like to find a partner who also values their independence, and who I can share that freedom with.
