Jessica Simpson and her ex-husband Eric Johnson have a chance at maybe getting back together.

Country singer’s father, Joe Simpson, suggested this while talking to TMZ at a charity event in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

The fashion designer, age 45, revealed she and Johnson are separating after announcing the split in January. They share three children: 13-year-old Maxi, 12-year-old Ace, and 6-year-old Birdie.

At the party, someone asked 65-year-old Joe if he thought his daughter and her husband could repair their relationship. He wasn’t sure, but he didn’t dismiss the possibility.

The former couple spent Thanksgiving together, suggesting they might be working on getting back together. Joe also mentioned that Johnson could potentially join them for Christmas.

Earlier this year, the actress from The Dukes of Hazzard described her separation from Johnson as difficult. However, she also mentioned they were “working through things as a family,” suggesting they were attempting to reconcile.

She previously mentioned in an Instagram post that she had tolerated situations she felt she didn’t deserve.

An insider told People magazine that the couple’s marriage had been struggling for some time, creating a difficult and oppressive atmosphere.

Simpson’s health was suffering due to problems in her marriage, and she ultimately decided to get a divorce and focus on her own well-being. According to a source, she needed to prioritize herself and move forward.

As many of you know, Eric and I have been going through a really tough time. We’ve made the difficult decision to live separately while we work through some challenges in our marriage. It’s a painful process, but we’re committed to navigating it with as much grace as possible.
