Jessica Rowe Reveals Heartbreaking Health Struggle of Husband Peter Overton

Jessica Rowe has shared a moving update on her husband Peter Overton‘s recent health scare. 

The co-anchor of the popular TV personality had to take a break from work due to a need for surgery on his vocal cords, as medical professionals found a polyp during an examination.

In this week’s Stellar Magazine, the podcaster, aged 54, shares that Peter, who is 58, found the healing journey to be challenging.

In a moment when I’ve misplaced something deeply integral to my identity and work, I found myself uttering, “Oh my goodness!” Jess went on.

However, he’s now resumed work and can converse normally, so he doesn’t merely need to communicate with me through forceful applause.

Jess previously said that it was a ‘scary’ time for the 9News veteran.

Peter exhibits positive qualities, and there’s no doubting his goodness. In that moment, it undeniably seemed frightening, as Rowe shared with Daily Mail Australia.

It’s great that he’s returned to work. He seems to be enjoying himself, and we’re happy to have him away from home again.

Earlier, Overton expressed fear due to the experience as he found himself speechless for an entire week following the surgery.

News of Overton’s shock health scare was broken by his wife Jessica. 

Rowe posted an image on Instagram showing Peter embracing their beloved dog, accompanied by some concerning text as the caption.

‘Peter isn’t on Instagram, but he asked me to pass along some recent updates. At present, he’s taking some extended time off from work.’

Following a discovery of a polyp by an ENT specialist on one of his vocal cords during the holidays, it provides an explanation for his unusually hoarse voice.

She mentioned that Peter had undergone surgery and needed to limit his talking during the recovery period, which meant he would be off work for a while.

‘He underwent a surgical procedure, and right now, he’s not allowed to speak as part of the healing process (which is quite tough for him!). I hope he’ll return to Nine News relatively quickly.’

Overton described the polyp as ‘like a big blister hanging off’ his vocal cords. 

‘I must admit, it scared the living daylights out of me,’ he said. 

Three days after the procedure, they performed the operation and removed it using a laser. I stayed in the hospital for a day following that, before being discharged and heading home. For more than a week afterwards, I wasn’t allowed to speak.

According to Rowe, Giselle was eager to contribute positively to the world someday, so he was glad to see her joining them.

The tenth-grader neatly pulled her dark hair into a polished ponytail and seemed perfectly comfortable mingling with the distinguished diners at Alpha restaurant, which was filled with successful attendees.

Instead, she took a lovely Camilla dress from her mother’s closet, and Rowe accessorized the look with a vibrant red dress by Romance Was Born to add a striking contrast.
