Jessica Lange Surprises Fans with Glasgow Film Festival Appearance After Flight Delay
On Friday, following a delayed flight, Jessica Lange stepped out at the Glasgow Film Festival donning an elegant velvet jacket.
The renowned actress from Hollywood, now 75 years old, will be starring alongside Ed Harris in “Long Days Journey Into Night,” a production that had its premiere delayed due to more than an hour-long hold-up on the runway at Dublin Airport, before it eventually took place.
Even though she had experienced a delay, she still looked radiant upon her arrival at Glasgow Airport around 1 pm, leaving onlookers astonished, thinking they were witnessing a celebrity.
One enthusiastic admirer handed over a photo of her deceased spouse, Sam Shephard, to Jessica, causing her great joy, while she walked towards her chauffeured vehicle.
While choosing the photo she liked best from Jason Carroll, whom she’d met in November 2023, she expressed her gratitude by saying: ‘Thanks for this. It’s wonderful to be in Scotland again.’
Later on, the actress will stroll down the red carpet and then switch to an eccentric suit adorned with a brushed brown and blue checkered design.

Jessica completed her ensemble with a sleek black satin t-shirt and accessorized it with sophisticated stiletto heels.
Previously, the star had filmed Rob Roy in Scotland, and remarkably, her visit occurred precisely during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of that very film.
In the film she parted Mary Macgregor, the wife of Rob Roy MacGregor, then played by Liam Nieson.
Her arrival follows the commencement of the festival, during which her former co-star Tim Roth and Damon Hill, who is premiering his documentary there, also walked the red carpet at the Glasgow event.
As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t resist sharing that I was thrilled to spot Martin Compston and his loved ones gracing the scene for a full twelve days at the bustling city festival!
Jessica’s forthcoming movie, titled “Long Day’s Journey into Night,” is adapted from Eugene O’Neill’s play carrying the identical title.
In my personal exploration of literature, I’ve found myself deeply moved by Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize-winning piece, which offers a compelling portrayal of a turbulent summer day in the lives of the Tyrones. Interestingly, this narrative seems to draw heavily from O’Neill’s own tumultuous family experiences.
Equally powerful and heartwarming, this is an engaging tale that explores themes of love, enmity, treachery, dependency, and the tenuous strength of familial ties. It’s a must-read!

In October, it was disclosed that the actress who played King Kong announced her intention to retire from acting following over four decades of work and numerous awards.
In the 1976 version of King Kong that was a remake, Jessica initially gained recognition. This movie, although it received varied criticisms, still managed to garner her a Golden Globe Award.
Jessica boasts two Academy Awards for Best Actress, one earned in 1982 for Tootsie and another in 1994 for Blue Sky, along with a total of five Golden Globe awards to her credit.
But now, after 47 years on the silver screen, Jessica is planning to gradually phase out her roles.
She explained that the primary factors influencing her choice were the apparent prioritization of profit over artistic expression in today’s movie business.
During an interview with The Telegraph, she expressed that creativity has taken a back seat to corporate earnings. Instead of focusing on the art or storytelling, the priority shifts towards meeting the expectations of shareholders.
I don’t really enjoy those large-scale comic book movie adaptations. To me, it seems as though the artistic aspect that we’re passionate about has taken a backseat to financial gain.
