Jessica Alves Cancels US TV Appearances Over Safety Fears Amid Trump’s Gender Policy

Jessica Alves has announced that she has had to scrap all her future U.S. television engagements due to concerns about her personal security after the inauguration of Donald Trump.

The openly transgender television personality based in London, aged 41, expressed her discomfort about discussing LGBTQ+ matters in the present atmosphere of apprehension and ambiguity within the nation.

After his inauguration, President Trump issued an executive order stating that the U.S. would only acknowledge two genders: male and female, and that these genders are unchangeable. He also requested that officials refer to these genders as “sex” instead of “gender”.

Through a heartfelt post on her Instagram Stories, Jessica clarified that the decisions at hand would have a direct impact on numerous friends and associates residing overseas.

She wrote: ‘I’ve made the difficult choice to call off my planned TV shows in the U.S., as I’ve been watching the situation closely since President Trump was inaugurated. What I’m seeing, the measures taken to marginalize minorities, is truly terrifying.’

“The attacks against transgender individuals by the current administration directly impact numerous of my coworkers and acquaintances.”

(This version maintains the original’s meaning while using simpler, more natural language to express it.)

She added: ‘I’d rather not make TV appearances discussing LGBTQIA+ matters in an environment that breeds fear and apprehension. My concern is for my own wellbeing and protection, given I’m not a local.’

‘I strongly feel that recent immigration and citizenship laws disproportionately impact individuals like myself and many cherished friends, who originate from Latin America. Despite this, my affection for the United States and its people remains unwavering. To me, the US has always symbolized a shining example of opportunity for those dreaming to construct a brighter future not only for themselves but also their loved ones.’

I’m profoundly disheartened by the rise of prejudice and discrimination, particularly the hostility towards diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, initiatives, and those who work on them. It’s concerning that even large corporations like Amazon are following suit, apparently choosing to forgo their own DEI initiatives.

I truly hope for a future where the acceptance of others, which I think is deeply rooted in American culture, resurfaces.

In his first speech, Trump announced that he recognizes just two genders, while also vowing to rename the Gulf of Mexico, halt America’s downfall, and deter illegal immigration at the southern border.

From today onward, the U.S. government’s formal stance is recognizing just two genders: male and female, as declared by him, which led to a resounding applause within the Rotunda of the Capitol.

Trump reinforced and broadened this viewpoint by signing an executive order on his inauguration day, which was titled: ‘Protecting Women from Radical Gender Ideologies and Upholding Biological Reality within the Federal Government.’

The United States adheres to a principle that there are only two biological genders, male and female. These genders are inherent and unchangeable, rooted deeply in an undeniable truth.

Following Caitlyn Jenner, a globally renowned transgender woman, faced severe ridicule for backing Trump, despite his issuance of an executive order that acknowledges merely two genders.

Taking to X she wrote: ‘Congratulations Mr. President. Thanks be to God!’

The response was immediate, filled with individuals labeling her as ‘Bruce’, criticizing her for advocating for someone who openly opposes her community, and countering with images of her prior to her transition.

So Bruce, what do you think about Trump signing an executive order that officially recognizes only two genders? Does it feel good to have your gender identity accurately represented again?”

“Hey Bruce, so now that Trump signed the executive order confirming just two genders, does it feel like you’re back to being a guy officially?

In response, they said, “Of course! No problem. He simply sent you a reply that referred to Bruce, which is an older reference, since that’s who Caitlyn Jenner was known as prior to her transition in 2015, as shown by the attached picture from the 1990s.

In approximately 30 minutes, it will switch from addressing you as ‘ma’am’ to ‘sir’, as a third person put it, for you, Bruce.

A fourth simply replied: ‘You’re a disgrace to your entire community.’

On Inauguration Day, Jenner too shared a sequence of posts on Instagram. One post specifically expressed her joy and satisfaction, stating that she was “overjoyed beyond belief” to back Trump.

The post contained numerous critical remarks aimed at ridiculing the former Olympian, who had previously won a gold medal.

Later on, she shared a photo taken outside the Starlight Inaugural Ball with Pam Bondi (nominated as Attorney General), Alina Habba (Trump’s lawyer), Jeanine Pirro, and her long-term companion Sophia Hutchins in the picture too.

This post had comments restricted, preventing an influx of abuse which she is experiencing on X.
