Jess Glynne reveals the secret heartbreaking reason she was unable to greet Alex Scott off the I’m A Celebrity bridge

Jess Glynne explained she couldn’t meet Alex Scott on the ‘I’m A Celebrity‘ bridge because her mother recently had a stroke and needed brain surgery.

Singer Mabel, 36, explained why she wasn’t at the bridge to meet her girlfriend after she was the first contestant eliminated from ‘I’m A Celebrity.’ The couple has been together for two years.

Shortly after Alex finished his time on the show ‘Jungle’, Jess used Instagram to share sad news and express her frustration that the football commentator hadn’t been given enough time on television.

I’m incredibly proud of her, even though her journey ended sooner than she deserved. She didn’t get enough recognition for how amazing she is, but this is just the start of things for her.

I understand people are curious about my absence at the bridge’s finish line, and I wanted to explain what happened personally.

‘Over the last few weeks my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery.

‘It’s been really serious, life-altering time for my family and I’ve had to stay close to home.

‘Alex would always want me to be where I’m needed most. I can’t wait to have her back by my side.’

Oh my gosh, when she finally came out, it wasn’t who we all expected! It was her lovely friend Regan Coleman who was there with her, and they headed back to the hotel together. Honestly, she just seemed so overcome with everything, she was totally emotional. It was heartbreaking and beautiful to see, honestly!

Talking to Ant and Dec, she shared how relieved she was to be released, saying it felt surreal and unbelievable. She explained she was still processing the fact that she was finally free.

When asked if she was upset about being the first one voted off, Alex said she wasn’t disappointed at all. She described the experience as amazing and challenging, and expressed gratitude for having shared it with such a great group of people.

‘The laughter we have had and we really connected and making the bonds that we did.’

Alex was caught bringing in salt hidden in her sock, and she laughed as she watched the video of the discovery. She admitted she didn’t know exactly how many packets she’d smuggled in, explaining she’d simply put them in her sock.

At first, I used a spoon to give it to Jack, who would then mix it into his rice. This meant the others in camp found out about it.

Ant and Dec questioned her about the most difficult part of being in the jungle, right as she was playfully blaming Martin Kemp for something.

Alex shared that there’s a problem with the toilet – it often smells bad and someone consistently leaves the seat up. However, they feel unable to address the issue because the person responsible is highly respected and considered a celebrity.

I was so excited to see Alex before she walked across the bridge, and she told me who she’s rooting for! She’s backing Shona to win the whole series, which I totally get – I think Shona really needs this win to boost her confidence. She did say Ginge and Aitch are fantastic too, and she’d be thrilled to see them make it to the final, but she’s really hoping it’s Shona who takes the crown.

When the celebrity contestant exited the jungle bridge, she was happily met by her friend Regan Coleman. Her girlfriend, singer Jess Glynne, is currently on tour in the UK and couldn’t be there herself.

Fans quickly took to X to say they are ‘sad’ and surprised to see Alex leave the jungle first.

It’s really disappointing that Alex Scott was the first contestant voted off of ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ – I definitely didn’t expect that to happen.

‘I haven’t even watched I’m a celeb for a few days but how is Alex out?? I hate everyone.’

Alex Scott was the first celebrity eliminated from the current season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, and many viewers, including myself, expected Lisa to be the one leaving.

Oh my gosh, I was furious when I heard about this! Apparently, our beloved Football Focus presenter got in trouble for sneaking salt into camp – salt! – and because of it, the whole camp lost a star. Can you believe it? It’s just salt, but the rules are the rules, I guess. Still, it’s so unfair! I’m totally Team Presenter on this one, even if they did break a silly rule.

She also opened up about the importance of diversity and representation in the media industry.
