Jess Glynne is thrilled that her girlfriend, Alex Scott, is returning home soon, as it was announced she’ll be finishing her assignment early.
The 41-year-old sports presenter is leaving the show early to return to the UK and support his wife, Jess, whose mother is undergoing brain surgery.
Normally, celebrities participating in the show are required to remain in Australia until the last contestant leaves. However, Alex has made an exception to return home and support their partner, Jess.
I was so sorry to hear Jess couldn’t make it to Australia to greet Alex at the bridge – it’s become such a beautiful tradition for couples! She shared that her mom hasn’t been feeling well, and naturally, family comes first. It’s a reminder that life happens, and sometimes we have to adjust our plans to support those we love.
Before heading home on Saturday night, Jess wrote a message saying, ‘A true champion! She was authentically herself throughout her entire time in the jungle.’
‘We see you, we saw you and we love you! I can’t wait to have you home my woman.’

She posed in a green T-shirt in the accompanying snaps which read: ‘Alex for the win!’
The singer posted a video of herself and her friends wearing identical T-shirts and excitedly supporting her.
This weekend Alex revealed that she was leaving the process early to fly back to the UK.
Alex explained that the past few months have been difficult, but Jess encouraged him to participate in the show as a tribute to her mother.
‘It’s been tough because I want to be here for the wrap party and I have to get home straight away.
Jessica is my priority, and I’m eager to return to her and be a source of strength. I’m incredibly grateful for all the support I received from everyone at ITV and my fellow contestants on the show – they were amazing.
She shared that she nearly missed her trip to Australia because Jess’s mother, Alexandra, had a severe stroke and required brain surgery.
Alex shared in a heartfelt interview with the Daily Mail that singer Jess encouraged her to appear on the show, even after receiving upsetting family news. However, she spent her time on ITV worrying that if her partner wasn’t waiting for her at the show’s iconic bridge, her mother’s health might deteriorate.

After leaving the show on Friday, Alex explained that it had been a difficult period for everyone involved, especially the contestant’s family, and that deciding to appear on the show had been a hard choice.
Jess actually didn’t want me to stop helping. I always worried she might not be okay, especially if her mother’s health hadn’t improved or if things had continued to decline – and recently, they have been getting worse.
It was a tough call to turn down that opportunity, but Jess really encouraged me to take this one instead.
The couple privately dealt with a family hardship while their partner appeared on the BBC’s ‘The One Show’ as a contestant on a reality TV program.
After Jess became the first contestant eliminated on Friday, people wondered why she wasn’t there to support the departing contestant, as friends and family usually do. This led the singer to finally speak out about the situation.
She shared a personal update on Instagram, explaining that her mother recently had a stroke and required immediate surgery.
My family has been going through a difficult and transformative period, so I’ve been focusing on being there for them. Alex always prioritized being where she was needed most, and I miss having her with me. I’m looking forward to when we can be together again.
Even though they weren’t present, Jess, age 36, and Alex reacted right after the interview with Ant and Dec featuring the previous host of Football Focus.

During their phone call, Jess explained to Alex that she was worried about getting enough screen time and criticized the show for not portraying her personality well.
Jess shared on Instagram that she’s incredibly proud of her partner, even though her time on the show ended sooner than expected.
‘She didn’t get the airtime to show how incredible she really is.’
Alex shared that the show’s editors altered her scenes because she felt she came across as uninteresting. She admitted this openly.
