Jesinta Franklin rallies behind friend whose house was destroyed in LA fires: ‘I’m heartbroken for you all’
As an ardent admirer, I’ve wholeheartedly stood by my friend through the heart-wrenching ordeal of losing their home to the catastrophic Los Angeles fires.
On Thursday, a AFL WAG shared on Instagram that she was deeply saddened to learn about the devastating Eaton fire, which destroyed her friend Sasha Strabe’s family home, located north of Pasadena. She expressed her heartbreak over the tragic event.
33-year-old ex-Miss Universe Australia posted a distressing image, depicting the devastation left by fire, which consumed and destroyed her friend’s home entirely.
Deeply saddened for the lovely @sacha_strabe and her beloved family, an old acquaintance of mine, as depicted in this poignant photo, shared by Jesinta.
Moving forward, Jesinta shared that the house was a result of countless hours of hard work and affection poured into it by the family during their renovation process spanning several years.
She noted your transformation process with this house, the affection you carefully infused into each step of the gradual renovations. The happiness I witnessed as a result, was truly heartwarming, she penned.
‘To hear it is now gone leaves me heartbroken for you all.’
Jesinta went on to disclose that she intended to assist her friend in whatever capacity she was able, by posting a link to a GoFundMe page established for the aid of his distressed family.
‘If you know Sasha, you know she is kind caring and generous,’ Jesinta said.
In difficult moments, it’s challenging to decide on the right course of action or offer assistance effectively. However, contributing to this struggling family gives me the comforting feeling that, despite the magnitude of the problem, I am somehow making a tiny but meaningful difference in alleviating their hardship.
At the time of publication the GoFundMe had raised more than $86,000 (USD) for the family.
Jesinta posted a brief video, taken by a pal residing in Los Angeles. The video, captured from his rooftop, depicted the LA skyline being consumed by fire.
‘Our mate sending this to us from his rooftop in LA,’ she captioned the clip.
‘Frightening scenes. Absolutely devastating.’
Jesinta and her husband Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin have decided to re-list their luxurious Gold Coast residence, as it did not find a buyer during the auction.
In September, I found myself parting ways with an exquisite Mediterranean-style, seven-bedroom abode that had graced the market. The property, which fetched a cool $11 million at an earlier auction, was now off my hands.
In November, Jesinta, aged 33, shared with Daily Mail Australia that due to the auction price falling short of their minimum requirement, they intend to re-list their high-end property for sale in the upcoming year.
She mentioned that they are seeking potential buyers who might be interested in purchasing their luxury family residence, with an asking price above $11 million.
‘We’ll relist in the New Year, it passed in at auction,’ the model explained.
If a stunning property on the Gold Coast was sold for $11 million, then anyone seeking a property valued above that amount, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Don’t hesitate to reach out!
As a die-hard enthusiast, I’m excitedly recounting that this cherished duo is embarking on an extraordinary adventure – trading city living for the rustic charm of rural life! Accompanied by their little troop, daughter Tullulah, our 3-year-old princess, and son Rocky, the energetic 2-year-old, they’re ready to explore the wonders that await on the farm.
She mentioned that they’re currently exploring numerous properties and spending their weekends exploring rural areas, driving around in search of land.
‘We haven’t found the perfect spot yet, but I feel like we’re getting close.
Finding the ideal plot of land is crucial for our plans, and it’s truly thrilling!
Additionally, Jesinta shared insights about how their family dynamics have evolved since Buddy officially retired from the Australian Football League (AFL) in July 2023 due to a calf injury.
‘It’s been so good [having Bud at home],’ she said.
It’s simply wonderful; the rhythm is seamless now, and we’re able to aid one another effectively in our professional duties. To top it off, it’s been terrific because he excels as a father.
She explained that they’ve managed to squeeze in additional moments for family outings and entertaining activities, underscoring the significance of these shared experiences for them.
She happily enjoys her role as a mother, as she decided to reduce her work commitments this year to spend more quality time with the children. This was possible since Bud had a sabbatical year, marking his first retirement year, and Lulu will start school next year.
‘It’s a privilege we are able to get this time with the kids.
This is a wonderful mix of caravanning, camping, relaxing at the beach, exploring creeks, and visiting waterfalls. It’s all about making the most of these precious moments together before the school year begins!
