Jerry O’Connell says Rebecca Romijn and daughters got ‘physical with me’ over Kamala Harris comments

Jerry O’Connell claims his wife, Rebecca Romijn, and their 17-year-old twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, confronted him physically after he made comments about Kamala Harris.

Fifty-two-year-old O’Connell made the political statements after being surprised by Donald Trump’s win in the 2024 election.

O’Connell explained to Bill Maher on Club Random that he’d essentially said there was no forethought given to the situation, and that the outcome was a direct result of that lack of planning. He added that a preliminary step should have been taken.

I pretty much said that. I was just throwing out ideas, honestly, because I was so shocked. My wife and daughters, without even speaking, immediately became violent with me. They were incredibly angry, he explained.

O’Connell explained that the situation highlighted the need for him to be mindful of his wording, especially given that he lives in California.

He explained that three members of his family would get very upset if he told a joke, even a harmless one.

O’Connell previously mentioned he didn’t believe Trump would win, explaining that living in California, his local conversations led him to the same conclusion.

During the same show appearance, he mentioned that he and Romijn had both contributed to Harris’ campaign and even went to a rally featuring a performance by Megan Thee Stallion.

These remarks were made several months after O’Connell resolved a long-running disagreement with John Stamos, who was previously married to Romijn.

Stamos and Romijn married in 1998 and divorced in 2005. Although Romijn met O’Connell while still married to Stamos, O’Connell maintains that their relationship didn’t begin until after her divorce – there was no infidelity involved.

Romijn was surprised and upset by how honestly Stamos described their relationship in his 2023 memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, and O’Connell made fun of it as well.

Despite their past issues, John Stamos and Bob Saget reconciled at Howie Mandel’s 70th birthday party last November. Stamos attended the event with his wife, Caitlin McHugh, who is 39 years old.

O’Connell shared a selfie on Instagram with John Stamos and Graham McTavish, playfully suggesting a pattern of unlikely pairings. He joked that after Zoë Mamdani and Donald Trump, and then himself with Stamos, the next pairing should be the Russian Kremlin and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.

In his memoir, Stamos openly shared that he felt less masculine during his marriage to Romijn, especially as her career flourished while his faced challenges.

He described feeling disoriented as he helped Rebecca up, realizing she saw him as just the television professional while she was becoming a star. He admitted that, despite himself, he began to accept this dynamic.

He shared that they started to grow apart while attempting new things, and it became increasingly difficult to prioritize each other, relax, escape the pressures of daily life, and reconnect on a personal level.

I was shocked to read in her autobiography that during their divorce, he truly hated her – she actually said he saw her as ‘the Devil’! It was a really raw and honest revelation, and honestly, it broke my heart to hear she felt that way.

Romijn admitted she was very surprised and shocked by the reaction to her memoir, according to Entertainment Tonight.

I was really surprised by all of this. Honestly, I’m not comfortable promoting his books with those kinds of headlines, and that’s all I’m going to say about the situation.

When asked about the claims in Stamos’ book, O’Connell dismissed them with a sarcastic remark, saying, ‘I suppose people need to earn money somehow.’
