Jeremy Strong to lead cast of The Crown writer’s new Netflix thriller

Actor Jeremy Strong will appear in the Netflix reboot of “The Boys from Brazil,” a production penned by Peter Morgan, well-known for his work on “The Crown.

As reported by Deadline, Brian Cox – famous for his role as Kendall Roy in HBO’s Succession – is in discussions to star in the upcoming adaptation of Ira Levin’s 1976 novel. This story centers around a Nazi hunter who delves into a suspected plot in South America, uncovering possible secrets and conspiracies.

It’s said that Morgan, renowned for producing “The Crown,” will likely pen the script for this upcoming project. Additionally, Morgan will hold the position of executive producer, joining Suzanne Mackie in this role. The show is rumored to debut on Netflix, but as of now, Netflix has not officially confirmed this.

Previously, the novel “The Boys from Brazil” was brought to life on the big screen by director Franklin J Schaffner in 1978. A notable ensemble of actors, including Gregory Peck, Laurence Olivier, James Mason, and Lilli Palmer, graced the film.

It’s been reported that the character of Ezra Lieberman, previously portrayed by Olivier, will be taken up by another actor. This is due to a tip-off about a Nazi hunter uncovering a conspiracy, which leads Lieberman to journey to Paraguay, where there are suspicions that Dr Josef Mengele, a high-ranking official during the war, may have survived.

Although it’s still a while before “The Boys from Brazil” makes its way to our TV screens, Strong did give us a sneak peek into the finale of “Succession,” revealing that his dedication to method acting led him to consume some of the famous smoothie that was prepared for the show.

Just a handful of occasions, and afterwards, I stepped out to vomit and rinse it away from my hair,” expressed the actor, having just received a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the Oscars for his role in “The Apprentice“.

Indeed, I did consume it alright. Frankly, I can’t imagine not drinking it. His ambition to be CEO is so strong that he’ll even swallow whatever concoction that might be. However, he described the mixture, which included milk, tabasco sauce, bread crusts, and pickles among other ingredients, as absolutely revolting.
