In a social media post, Renner uploaded a picture of himself riding a motorcycle with the Mayor of Kingstown logo, accompanied by the message, “It’s OFFICIAL!! Season 4 is done!! Thank you to the cast, crew, and above all… the FANS.” Later, he hinted that “This season will be well worth the wait.
Dillon spoke candidly regarding the recent startling demise of Iris, Emma Laird’s character in the series, caused by an accidental drug overdose. He expressed, “That element of authenticity in our show mirrors my own experiences and where I hail from. I battled heroin early in life, and many friends of mine have perished due to it; opioid addiction is a genuine issue. Taylor [Sheridan] has instilled in me the importance of discussing what one truly understands, without sugarcoating anything. So, we didn’t mince words. Life can be harsh and unjust, and our aim was to portray true stories. We wanted to make an impact, and that’s as real-life as it gets.

Star Renner portrays Mike McLusky, the unofficial mayor of the fictional city of Kingstown, a town primarily focused on prison operations. This series introduces a high-profile cast including Renner, Dianne Wiest, Taylor Handley, Aidan Gillen, Emma Laird, Derek Webster, Michael Beach, and co-creator Hugh Dillon. Despite boasting an impressive roster of actors, the first season of “Kingstown’s Mayor” received mixed reviews from critics, with a 33% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 27 critical reviews.
