Jeremy Renner Gives Shocking Answer If Hawkeye Is In Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars

With Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, being one of the last original Avengers, fans are wondering if he’ll appear in the upcoming movies, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. As Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has only a few projects planned, the conclusion of The Multiverse Saga is fast approaching.

I was listening to an interview with Jeremy Renner on Power 105.1 FM, and they straight up asked him if he’d be in the next two Avengers movies – Doomsday and Secret Wars. He didn’t hesitate, just a firm “No. No.” It was pretty direct! Then one of the hosts jokingly wondered if he was worried they might just recast him with a different version of Hawkeye from the multiverse, which I thought was a clever question.

Renner didn’t seem worried about potentially being replaced by a different version of Hawkeye, jokingly saying they were welcome to try. He then added with a laugh that he had plenty of other things to keep him occupied.

The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, completed filming with the cast of Avengers: Doomsday on September 19, 2025. Marvel Studios unexpectedly announced the first group of actors appearing in the film during a live stream on March 26, 2025, and it featured several familiar faces from the X-Men movies that were previously made by Fox before Disney acquired them.

So, Jeremy Renner said he wasn’t involved in any new Avengers: Doomsday casting announcements, but Kevin Feige at Marvel actually said more news is coming! It makes you wonder if Renner’s just keeping things quiet, which wouldn’t be surprising. A lot of these Marvel actors are contractually obligated to deny things in interviews, thanks to those strict NDAs they have.

Since the full cast for Avengers: Secret Wars hasn’t been revealed yet, there’s still a chance Clint Barton (Hawkeye) could be announced as part of the team before filming starts. As of today, we don’t know when filming for the movie—which will conclude Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—is scheduled to begin.

The movie Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to come out on December 17, 2027.
