As a seasoned television enthusiast with a soft spot for the British small screen, I must say that this year’s National Television Awards (NTA) lineup is nothing short of a spectacle! The diverse range of nominees and categories reflects the vibrant and dynamic nature of our beloved British TV.

Fans of Jeremy Clarkson expressed their disappointment at the National Television Awards, as Clarkson’s Farm failed to win an award during its ceremony on Wednesday night.

In a competitive clash between the popular farming show on Amazon Prime and Stacey Solomon‘s BBC series “Show Your Life Out,” it was the former X-Factor contestant who ended up taking home the award in the end.

However, many supporters of Jeremy took to the platform once known as Twitter, now X, in anger, venting their displeasure by posting comments.

‘#NTAs was robbed. Highlighting farming on #BackBritishFarmingDay or tidying up peoples s***’;

‘#nta OK. 3 goats kicking Jeremy Clarkson in the nuts is hilarious’;

‘How the hell did, ‘sort your life out’ get an #NTA award over Clarksons farm?!? Wow’;

#Fixed once more, isn’t it? Fact-based accolade for a family needing organization over #Clarkson’sFarm who’s contributed significantly to farming in recent years! Unbelievable sham #NTAs” or

‘NTA is rigged stacey Solomon is w*** #NTA should have won on clarkson farm’;

‘Clarksons Farm should have won that! #NTAs’;

‘Gogglebox and Clarkson’s Farm being beaten by this #NTAs’;

2021’s National Television Awards are happening once again at the customary venue, The O2 London on Peninsula Square, and will air live starting at 8pm on ITV.

The NTAs have been at the O2 every year since 2010, with the exception of the rescheduled 2022 bash in Wembley.

Comedian Joel Dommett will host the awards ceremony for the fourth time.

For the first time this year, Jungle King Sam Thompson and his friend Pete Wicks will take over the red carpet presentations.

There have been whispers that Holly Willoughby might reappear on British television, joining Joel’s hosting crew.

Previously known as the host of This Morning, a 43-year-old individual, seems poised for a reunion with their former colleagues following their departure from the daytime program in October, after spending 14 years as a co-host.

Her leaving occurred after it was discovered that security guard Gavin Plumb had devised a plan to kidnap and murder her, an act for which he has now been imprisoned.

It’s intriguing to note that the individuals who took over from Holly on “This Morning,” Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, were not nominated in the Best TV Presenter category at this year’s National Television Awards.

Although the program has been nominated in the Daytime Awards, Cat, aged 47, and Ben, aged 49, were not successful in their bids – a surprising outcome given that they were brought onto the show by ITV executives in March following Holly and Phillip Schofield’s departure.

Alison Hammond, the cherished co-host who is 49 years old, has been nominated yet again for Best TV Presenter and has knocked everyone else out of contention by doing so.

Last year, This Morning missed out on the Best Daytime TV award for the first time in 12 years.

In the TV presenter category, Alison will be competing against Bradley Walsh, Claudia Winkleman, Stacey Solomon, as well as the long-standing winners Ant and Dec, who have held this title for 22 consecutive years.

In another realm, I’ve been ecstatically celebrating Michelle Keegan’s sensational triple victory at the awards ceremony! She was not just nominated but graced with three nominations, and one of them was a well-deserved recognition for her exceptional acting in Fool Me Once, a series that broke all records.

In January, the actress from Coronation Street was the lead in Netflix’s adaptation of Harlan Coben’s mystery novel.

Michelle’s acting as military spouse Maya Stern, who mourns the loss of her slain husband, has earned recognition. When she unexpectedly sees him on a surveillance camera inside her house while taking care of a baby.

I’m absolutely thrilled to pieces! Not only is my beloved series up for an award in the New Drama category, but my favorite show, Brassic, where Michelle shines as Erin Croft, has also been nominated for Best Comedy! This double recognition is simply beyond words!

The show “Fool Me Once” garnered massive popularity on Netflix, amassing more than 100 million views – propelling Michelle’s acting career to new heights.

Previously, the actor from the soap opera has been nominated for four National Television Awards. Three were for his work on Coronation Street, while the fourth was for his role in BBC’s Our Girl.

In addition to recognition, Toby Jones is commended in the dramatic performance section for portraying Sir Alan Bates, a former postmaster among over 550 individuals who have taken legal action against the Post Office.

In a challenging contest, the ITV drama stands to compete with the popular Netflix series “Baby Reindeer,” romantic dramas such as “One Day” and “Fool Me Once,” and “Red Eye” for the award.

As I find myself contending against the talented actress Jessica Gunning for the prestigious drama performance award, I can’t help but reflect on our contrasting roles in the captivating dark comedy thriller, Baby Reindeer. In this intriguing tale, my character, much like myself, is embroiled in a riveting cat-and-mouse game, as I find myself pursuing comedian Donny Dunn after he kindly offers me a complimentary cup of tea at the pub where he works. The suspense and wit of this production have certainly left an indelible mark on audiences, making it one to remember in my career as a lifestyle expert.

In her category as a television presenter, Claudia Winkleman, known for her show The Traitors which is up for Reality Competition, will face stiff competition from personalities such as Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh, Stacey Solomon, and the long-standing champions Ant and Dec.

The Geordie Duo have won the award 22 times now, and they’ll be chasing their record 23rd victory.

Additionally, they might secure a victory for the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award since Saturday Night Takeaway competes against fellow productions like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, The Graham Norton Show, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, and The Masked Singer in the contest.

In the Reality Competition Category, The Traitors will be alongside shows such as The Apprentice, Celebrity Big Brother, Love Island, and Race Across The World.

In the Dramatic Series Performances classification, Peter Ash of Coronation Street is nominated for portraying Paul Foreman, a character grappling with a harrowing fight against Motor Neurone Disease in another segment.

He is set to compete with Angela Wynter from EastEnders, David Neilson from Coronation Street, Diane Parish also from EastEnders, as well as Eden Taylor-Draper of Emmerdale.

David Beckham, a former football captain for England, and popular musician Robbie Williams have been nominated in the Authored Documentary category at the NTAs for their Netflix docuseries, along with actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, who has been recognized for her documentary focusing on perceptions within the deaf community. Additionally, comedian Rhod Gilbert is also on the list of nominees for his work that delves into his experiences with cancer treatment.

The shows are set to compete against Kate Garraway, who has been nominated for a third time in the Authored Documentary category, for “Derek’s Story.” This documentary chronicled the last year of her late husband’s life, ending with his passing in January.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that with an unprecedented number of skilled professionals gracing our television screens, the National Television Awards (NTA) is reviving the Expert category.

This year, popular judge Anton Du Beke is nominated for an honor, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the well-known celebrity dance competition – his three other judges have also been nominated as potential recipients.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve been eagerly watching, hoping, and praying that our beloved dance show can bounce back after being mired in a series of unfortunate events these past few months. Finally, it seems like we’re witnessing a much-needed resurgence!

In the coming 20th season, a stir has arisen as dancers Graziano Di Prima and Giovanni Pernice face allegations of abusive conduct from their celebrity dance partners. An announcement regarding the investigation’s verdict on Giovanni Pernice is expected soon.

Initially, the allegations raised concerns that the upcoming Strictly series might struggle to regain its footing. However, it seems that Strictly is gradually shedding the shadows of the scandals.

The show has been nominated in the Talent Show category and Anton received an Expert nod.
