Jeremy Allen White set to star in new Netflix romance drama

Jeremy Allen White is set to star in a new Netflix romance show.

According to Variety, the star of “The Bear” is linked to the miniseries adaptation titled “Enigma Variations,” which is drawn from the novel penned by André Aciman.

The narrative focuses on the character of Paul, portrayed by White, whose love life remains intense throughout his adulthood, mirroring its intensity during his teenage years – from a youthful infatuation with his parents’ cabinetmaker to his lasting affection for a girl at his New England university. However, this is interspersed with romantic encounters with men.

The summary of the book indicates that Paul’s connections are fleeting, elusive, and perpetually tinged with raw desire. With each stride he makes, his aspirations, refusals, anxieties, and remorse are poised to set traps for him at every turn.

Yet, eventually, I uncover my true character hidden beneath layers of strategy and skill. It’s a journey of self-discovery, much like the one we all take in real life.

The upcoming series will be penned and overseen by Amanda Kate Shuman, who previously worked on “The Wheel of Time,” and is slated to be directed by the talented Oliver Hermanus, renowned for his work in “Living.

Apart from White and Aciman, they too serve as executive producers. Notably, Aciman penned the original novel for “Call Me by Your Name.

The actor playing Carmy on “The Bear” is gearing up for a packed schedule ahead; he’s slated to portray Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere.

The film is set to chronicle the journey of a music icon while he creates his groundbreaking 1982 album titled “Nebraska,” featuring Jeremy Strong from “Succession” and Stephen Graham, known for his work in “Peaky Blinders,” as part of the cast.

In the upcoming film “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” the actor is set to lend his voice to Jabba the Hutt’s son within the Star Wars universe.
