Jennifer Love Hewitt, 45, says her 11-year marriage to Brian Hallisay is ‘like 190 years in Hollywood’
As a devoted fan of both Jennifer Love Hewitt and her husband, Brian Hallisay, I have been captivated by their love story and professional growth. Their journey from co-stars to spouses, and now to on-screen partners in “The Christmas Junkie,” is nothing short of magical.
Jennifer Love Hewitt recently discussed the key to her long-lasting, 11-year union with spouse and co-actor Brian Hallisay in an open conversation.
In her usual practice, the actress-author maintains a clear divide between her private and work life. However, as her personal and professional worlds collide in her recent movie, ‘The Christmas Junkie’, Hewitt opened up about some aspects of her romantic relationship in a piece she wrote for People magazine.
45-year-old Hewitt takes pride in the fact that they’ve managed to stay together despite challenges and raising three children. Referring to over a dozen years of marriage, she humorously compares it to approximately 190 years in Hollywood‘s fast-paced relationship landscape.
On November 21, 2013, the couple got married, only a few days prior to the arrival of their eldest child, Autumn.
They crossed paths a couple of years ago, initially on the set of “Love Bites” in 2011, however, their connection wasn’t ignited until they collaborated once more on “The Client List” in 2012.
The 9-1-1 star shared that he believed he had come across the most stunning gentleman during his lifetime, according to the magazine.
‘I said to my manager and friend at the time: “I’m going to marry that man, and I’m going to have his children.” She said, “Sweetheart, I think everybody thinks they’re going to marry that man and have his children.” I was like, “Yeah, but I’m going to do it. Just watch.”‘
Initially, Hewitt fell head over heels, but Hallisay, being 46 years old, might have needed a little longer to embrace the concept with the same intensity.
‘I don’t know that it was instant for him,’ she admitted, ‘But it was instant for me.’
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that the star of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” didn’t find herself drawn to Hallisay merely due to his good looks. His kindness, integrity, strong family bonds, and intelligence were equally captivating factors for me.
Here’s a more conversational rephrasing of the given text: “I had a blast and fell for him hard. Somehow, fate smiled upon us, and we ended up together. Can you believe it? Yes, we tied the knot, and yes, I became a mom to his children.
The couple welcomed their second child, Atticus, nine in 2015.
In the year 2020, Hewitt and Hallisay decided to relocate and saw this as an opportune moment to reaffirm their marriage vows. They extended an invitation to Autumn and Atticus to take part in this special event.
The Ghost Whisperer actress found it incredibly lovely, and it was truly wonderful for our children to be present and make that moment a cherished memory,” she expressed about the event.
They constantly discuss this topic, which I find delightful. It was amidst the peak of the COVID pandemic, when we craved something extraordinary to hold onto.
‘It really did become a magical time for us.’
Another magical moment was when they increased their family with surprise baby Aiden in 2021.
She admitted that, much like many parents juggling multiple children and demanding careers, they often struggle to find time for themselves. Yet, she consistently makes a conscious decision to prioritize her partner, Brian, each morning, a choice she would repeat without hesitation.
I truly and sincerely feel this way, even when he drives me up the wall. Yet, he still prefers me, which I’m grateful for. I am consistently overjoyed that my children share half of his genes.
Viewers can look forward to witnessing some passionate exchanges as a married couple take center stage in “The Christmas Junkie,” set to premiere on Lifetime this coming Saturday, the 14th of December.
Hewitt collaborated on the screenplay and took charge as director of a heartwarming holiday storyline, featuring a character who spends her initial Christmas without her mother while tasked with decking out a grand mansion for the festive season.
Hallisay stars as the house manager who says ‘Christmas isn’t really my thing.’
The screenplay drew inspiration from Hewitt’s deep affection for festive matters and her personal journey following the passing of her mother, Patricia, in June 2012.
The film was a family affair with all three of the couple’s kids make an appearance.
The director shared that it was incredibly enjoyable for him to work on a film paying tribute to his mother alongside Brian, as Brian consistently demonstrates an exceptional commitment to honoring her, despite having met her just once.
His presence made the occasion unique, almost as if we penned a heartfelt holiday missive of affection that stays forever in our possession.
The bond that existed between Hewitt and her deceased mother served as a catalyst for her latest publication, titled “Inheriting Magic: A Journey through Grief, Joy, Festivity, and Creating Each Day Spellbinding,” now available in stores from Tuesday onwards.
