Jennifer Lopez tenderly kisses Jharell Jerome’s forehead in first look of their upcoming film Unstoppable
As an ardent fan of heartwarming stories and inspiring figures, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming film, Unstoppable! Jennifer Lopez, a powerhouse in her own right, is taking on the role of a mother whose son overcomes immense odds to become a champion wrestler. The fact that this story is based on real-life events makes it all the more captivating.
Jennifer Lopez tenderly kisses Jharrel Jerome’s forehead in the first look photo from their new film, Unstoppable.
On Thursday, a picture was shared by Amazon MGM Studios from the movie reportedly produced by Ben Affleck, who is rumored to be estranged from Jennifer Lopez.
In the fact-based drama, the actress, 55, stars as Judy, the mother of wrestler Anthony Lopez.
‘Against all odds, Anthony Robles, who was born without his right leg, rose to become the NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Champion. In an incredible turn of events, he defeated a champion from the school that initially refused him, a national wrestling powerhouse, Iowa.’
Lopez won a national championship in 2011 while wrestling for Arizona State University.
As a devoted contributor to the project, I took on the role of producer, but when it came to the intricate wrestling maneuvers, I had the privilege of standing in for Jerome as his stunt double.
The film is adapted from his autobiography titled “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated – My Journey to Becoming a Champion.”
Bobby Cannavale stars at Robles’ father, Rick.
I enthusiastically embody the character of high school wrestling coach Bobby Williams, portrayed by the talented Michael Peña, while Don Cheadle skillfully embodies Arizona State University’s wrestling coach Shawn Charles in our production.
Robles had an impressive record, going 96-0 during his high school career.
During his college years, he was crowned a trio of PAC-12 champions, earned the title of All-American on three occasions, and claimed the national championship title in 2011.
The prominent sports figure has completed a full loop – going back to his former school, Mesa High School, and getting appointed as the chief wrestling coach in March 2022.
In simpler terms, Jerome, aged 26, who was featured in the Emmy-winning series “When They See Us,” expressed his sentiments to Vanity Fair, stating, ‘It’s truly remarkable when an actor gets the opportunity to depict a real-life individual, the difficulties that arise from such a role, and the pursuit of justice.’
The actor did some research into the man he would portray on the big screen.
Without actually meeting him, it’s clear to see his confidence and fighting spirit – simply by watching his wrestling videos on YouTube and listening to his interviews, as he explained to the media outlet.
Then, upon encountering him, a sense of radiance captivates you, leaving you with an irresistible urge to declare, “Your tale is one I must share.”
Unstoppable will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
