Jennifer Lopez reveals who she will ‘forever cherish’ after taking swipe at ex-husband Ben Affleck

Okay, so J.Lo just posted the *most* amazing photos, and the caption… oh, the caption! She basically said Ben Affleck is who she’ll cherish *forever*. I mean, seriously, forever?! It’s so cute and romantic, I’m completely obsessed! I’ve been following her for years, and this just feels…right. I’m so happy for them both!

On Thursday, she posted some behind-the-scenes photos from the set of her upcoming musical film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, on Instagram.

In a behind-the-scenes moment, she took a quick mirror selfie while stylists were helping her get into her character’s costume, specifically lacing her into a corset on set.

She was wearing a bleach blonde wig with voluminous pin-up curls and a bold, red lip. 

She shared a post with a heartfelt message about her ‘Kiss family,’ and said she’s looking forward to seeing them at the theater this weekend.

This happened after she appeared to criticize her former husband, Ben Affleck—who also helps produce the film—when talking about dating apps earlier this week.

She shared a picture of a decorated cup—it had glitter, a spider web design, and the title of a film on it.

She posted a retro-style movie poster featuring herself as her character, Ingrid Luna. The poster was in black and white.

Jennifer Lopez shared another photo of herself, this one showing her in a short white dress and hat she wore for a performance in the musical.

She showcased another look featuring a short, black bob wig and a see-through, glamorous dress. She also posted a video of herself in a dress with a cape designed like a spiderweb.

And another clip showed her and her co-stars embracing in a warm hug. 

Oh my gosh, I was scrolling and saw the most amazing thing! Pictures of the original actress, and then right next to them, gorgeous selfies of JLo just hanging out by her trailer! It was like… a then-and-now of total fabulousness! I seriously couldn’t stop looking. It’s like JLo just *is* the role, even when she’s off-duty!

She shared several group pictures featuring director Bill Condon and her co-stars, Diego Luna and Tonatiuh.

We also saw footage of her embracing a classic Hollywood look, with her blonde hair styled in pin curls, both during filming and in between scenes.

She often smiled in her photos and videos, and had previously shared her excitement about working on the musical movie – a long-held dream she credited her ex-husband, Affleck, with helping her achieve.

In August 2024, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on what would have been their second wedding anniversary, stating they had differences that couldn’t be resolved.

Just last month, she appeared on CBS News Sunday Morning and shared with Lee Cowan that she struggled emotionally after the breakup, especially as filming for the movie began.

The singer of ‘On the Floor’ later said she came to see her divorce as a positive turning point, helping her to learn and develop as a person.

She shared warm memories of her former partner, specifically highlighting his work on her movie version of the Broadway hit, Kiss of the Spider Woman.

She explained that the film simply wouldn’t exist without her ex-husband and his production company, Artist Equity.

She admitted she always appreciated him for one thing: not that he constantly campaigned for the movie, but that he actually provided the funding to make it happen.

Honestly, when I met with him, I just *knew* this was the perfect opportunity for me. I told him it felt like something I was meant to do, and to my delight, he was supportive and actually helped me make it a reality. It was amazing!

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were married from a small wedding in July 2022 until Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024. Their marriage lasted about two years.

The couple first dated in the early 2000s, then reunited in 2021 and got married a year after that.

Jennifer Lopez told Howard Stern on his radio show that she has traditional views on love and relationships.

On Wednesday, a radio host asked her if she’d ever use the Raya dating app. She responded, simply, ‘No, I don’t want to.’

She admitted she wasn’t sure, saying she probably just had traditional views. Her recent divorce from Affleck, who was found to be using the exclusive dating app Raya, was one in a string of unsuccessful relationships.

Looking back on her failed relationships, she realized it wasn’t her fault. The problem wasn’t that she wasn’t worthy of love, but that those partners weren’t able to give it.

The person from the Bronx said that others lack self-worth and need to learn to value and love themselves, starting with recognizing their inner child.

She acknowledged that her past partners were generous, always giving her everything they had – gifts, possessions, even proposals of marriage. However, despite all of this…

Howard interjected: ‘They didn’t love you.’ 

Lopez agreed, ‘They didn’t,’ before admitting, ‘And I didn’t love myself.’ 

In the future, she said she wants to keep her romantic relationships ‘more quiet.’ 

She admitted she sometimes makes errors in judgment, likely because she tends to live very openly, especially given her public profile.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always believed life is meant to be shared. For me, that means wanting a partner to experience all of it with – the glamorous moments, like walking the red carpet, but also the everyday things, like running errands. It’s about having someone to celebrate the big wins *and* share the simple joys. Ultimately, I just want to share my life with someone special.

I decided to address the situation openly, but after everything my children and I have been through recently, I now prefer to keep that aspect of my life private.

Jennifer Lopez married Ben Affleck in 2022, but she’s been married before. Her previous husbands include Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony, with whom she has 17-year-old twins, Emme and Max.
