During her Las Vegas residency show, Jennifer Lopez opened up about her experiences with love and loss, sharing what she’s looking for in a partner now.
During her performance of “If You Had My Love” at the Colosseum, Jennifer Lopez talked about how her feelings about the 1999 song have changed over time.
She addressed the audience, saying, “1999 doesn’t feel that distant to some, but to me, it really does.” She continued, explaining that when she originally performed the song, she was young and full of optimism.
She explained that the song has been with her through all of life’s ups and downs. She used to sing it when she was feeling down, and also when she was joyful. But now, she sings it with a sense of strength and confidence.
Lopez then laid out what that power looks like now.
Honestly, if you want my love, you’ll need to work for it. That means treating me well, showing me respect, and accepting me completely for who I am.

Honestly, listening to her speak was incredible. She basically said you can’t expect me to love you if you don’t love me first, and then playfully asked all the women if she was right – the crowd absolutely went wild! It was such a relatable and empowering moment.
But the singer acknowledged that love still comes with risk.
Ugh, she gets it, you know? She totally understands. She was talking about love, and how it’s impossible to avoid getting hurt – it’s just part of the deal, you have to accept that. But then… then she said it. She said you can’t even have Vegas, the whole experience, without Elvis! It’s like, she’s right! Everything leads back to the King. It just makes sense. Honestly, it’s perfect. It’s all about Elvis!
Earlier this week, Lopez responded to criticism about her bold stage costumes as her residency began.
Okay, so she’s 56, and honestly? She looks AMAZING. Seriously, the outfits she’s been rocking are so bold and fantastic! And can we just talk about the people telling her to ‘dress her age’? Like, who even says that?! She’s owning it, and I’m here for it. She can wear whatever she wants, and she looks incredible doing it!
Lopez chuckled and wondered why the person in question always smiled with her mouth open in photos. She also questioned the person’s fashion choices, commenting that she didn’t seem to dress appropriately for her age, adding jokingly, ‘If you looked like that, you’d probably show it off too!’
She turned heads in a pink lace bodysuit with fishnet tights and lace-up boots, and continued to impress with several different outfits throughout the evening.
Between songs, Jennifer Lopez took a moment to express her gratitude to dedicated fans who had been with her since the beginning, specifically acknowledging those who attended her first Las Vegas show, ‘Jennifer Lopez: All I Have,’ which took place from 2016 to 2018.

She snapped her fingers and said to the audience, “It feels like only yesterday, doesn’t it? Ten years ago, on opening night!” The fans responded with cheers.
She playfully referenced her past relationships, joking, “I’d only been married twice at that point.” She quickly corrected herself with a laugh, saying, “Actually, it was only once… it just felt like twice!” She added that she was just kidding.
Lopez added with a grin: ‘It’s over, and I just, boom, we’re fine. It’s all good.’
She shared that she’s taking positive steps forward after going through some difficult times, saying she’s learning and becoming stronger. She then happily announced that she’s now in a really good place in her life.
Jennifer Lopez has been married four times. Most recently, she married Ben Affleck in 2022, but they filed for divorce in August 2024.

They got divorced in January 2025, but they’ve stayed friends and continue to support each other’s work.
The show included several outfit changes. She wore a unique Victoria’s Secret look—a sheer black lace catsuit with wings and a statement collar—as well as a green bodysuit with cutouts, a tuxedo-style outfit, and a sparkling purple gown with long gloves and a faux fur stole.
This is Jennifer Lopez’s second time performing a residency in Las Vegas. She previously completed a successful 120-show run called ‘All I Have’ in 2018, earning $100 million.
She announced Up All Night Live in May 2025 while hosting the American Music Awards.
Jennifer Lopez wowed a packed audience of over 4,000 fans with a dazzling 120-minute show on December 30th. The performance blended pop, R&B, and Latin music, starting with a Broadway-style opening and featuring her biggest hits like “Waiting for Tonight,” “Jenny From the Block,” “Play,” “On the Floor,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” and “Let’s Get Loud.”
