Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck ‘have no buyers’ after listing $68M mansion over a month ago amid divorce
As someone who has followed the lives of celebrities for what seems like a lifetime, I must say that the struggle of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez to sell their mega-mansion is nothing short of intriguing. I mean, who wouldn’t want a 38,000 square foot house with 12 bedrooms and 24 baths, complete with a sports complex and a 12-car garage? But then again, not everyone has the deep pockets to afford such luxurious real estate, especially when it’s being flipped just a year after purchase.
Reportedly through TMZ’s latest update, it seems that the luxury mansion, which Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez bought as their matrimonial residence last year, remains unsold.
The house has already been on the market for over a month.
The divorcing couple bought the home for $60million, and made quite a few upgrades to the place.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but be captivated by the grandeur of this residence, affectionately known as Crestview Manor. From what I’ve gathered from its Zillow listing, it flaunts an impressive 38,000 square feet, with a staggering 12 bedrooms and no less than 24 baths! It’s a dream come true for any home enthusiast like myself.
The property boasts a self-contained 5,000-square-foot guest suite, a caretaker’s residence, and a two-bedroom security lodge.
There’s also a ‘spacious 12-car garage and parking for 80 vehicles.’
This property boasts a multi-sport facility featuring basketball and pickleball courts, a well-stocked fitness center, a boxing arena, a dedicated sports hangout, and an onsite bar.
Casual observers will find it challenging to catch a glimpse of the property since it’s enclosed by two sets of gates and can only be reached via private, secure streets.
In July, Lopez and Affleck put it up for sale at $68 million, yet despite numerous viewings reported by sources to TMZ, no buyers have emerged as of now.
Real Estate experts provided several reasons to a media outlet explaining the possible delay in selling the home, given its link to celebrities.
It was proposed that there may not be a large number of potential buyers looking for a multi-million dollar mansion, and this could be particularly true for a property that’s being resold less than a year after it was originally purchased.
Some people are expressing the idea that the sluggish market could be overpriced, with a portion of this slowness potentially linked to the current 30-year fixed mortgage rate of 7.12%.
If, as anticipated, Chairman Jerome ‘Jay’ Powell reduces interest rates next month, the market may become more active or volatile.
Lopez submitted divorce papers on August 20, marking exactly two years since their official wedding ceremony as a couple.
In her application, she noted the date of their parting as April 26th, attributing the breakup to insurmountable disagreements.
Reports indicate that The Unstoppable Actress has been exploring potential new homes since April, however, nothing definitive has been decided as of now.
She also finalized the sale of a condo in New York City on the day of the filing.
Affleck has already moved in to a $20 million, five bedroom house he purchased in July.
