Jennifer Lawrence says she regrets calling Kourtney Kardashian ‘annoying’… but only after hanging with her sister Kylie Jenner

Jennifer Lawrence regrets the rude comment she made about Kourtney Kardashian last year.

During an appearance on Amy Poehler’s podcast, Good Hang, the actress confessed she’s often surprised by what she says.

The 35-year-old expressed disbelief at some of her old quotes on Tuesday, specifically mentioning one where she reportedly called Kourtney Kardashian ‘annoying’.

This happened after Timothée Chalamet was spotted with Kourtney Kardashian’s half-sister, Kylie Jenner, at the Golden Globe Awards on January 11th.

Lawrence and Jenner were talking because they both know Jenner’s boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet. They previously acted together in the 2021 movie, Don’t Look Up.

Lawrence is also friends with the cosmetic mogul’s mother Kris Jenner. 

The controversy started in November when actress Jennifer Lawrence mentioned the Kardashians during a lie detector test with her “Die My Love” co-star Robert Pattinson, as part of a Vanity Fair interview.

The Twilight star once asked, ‘You’ve mentioned how much you enjoy reality TV. Are you still watching The Kardashians?’

Lawrence hesitated for a moment before responding, saying he wasn’t currently participating. He acknowledged being on TikTok, but clarified that wasn’t the case ‘this season’.

Pattinson showed a photo of Khloe Kardashian and asked if she was the actress’s favorite. Before he could even finish asking, she immediately replied, ‘Yes!’

She then added, ‘Kourtney is more annoying than ever. She drives me nuts.’ 

‘Why? Who…,’ Pattinson replied, prompting Lawrence to explain her feelings. 

It feels like people always have to make a big deal out of everything. For example, someone might say, “I’ve decided to stop putting effort into my outfits.” Why announce it? Just wear what makes you comfortable without needing to explain it.

The celebrity went on to say, “It’s like, if you don’t have a TV in your room, just don’t mention it! Seriously, just keep it to yourself.”

Lawrence has mentioned before that she enjoys watching the Kardashians. She shared that she started watching the show while filming her 2017 horror movie, Mother!

She explained that filming took a real emotional toll on her, and she hit a low point. To lift her spirits, she eventually started incorporating the Kardashians into the project.

It wasn’t a face-to-face interaction, of course. I had to perform this one scene, and it pushed me into territory I’d never explored before – it was truly horrifying.

She explained that she began to feel frightened a few days prior and realized she needed a tent to protect herself, as she wasn’t sure how she would cope otherwise.

It was basically a computer displaying images and information about the Kardashians – things like photos and notes I’d taken about them. I’m not going to share those notes, though, because they’re private and I wouldn’t want to cause any offense.

I was so excited to hear that Jennifer Lawrence is going to be in a new movie! Apparently, it’s a murder mystery inspired by The Real Housewives, and it’s a collaboration between Apple Original Films and A24 – Variety reported it earlier this year, and I’ve been following the news ever since.

In a 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress from Silver Linings Playbook also shared her enthusiasm for the reality show, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

She told the publication that she thought it was the best reality TV finale she’d ever watched.

Lawrence said she was completely stunned by the finale, so engrossed that she didn’t even bother to check her phone.
