Jennifer Lawrence reveals she is working on a Miss Piggy movie with Emma Stone

Jennifer Lawrence revealed she is working with Emma Stone to produce an upcoming Miss Piggy movie.

The 35-year-old Academy Award winner mentioned she’s likely to both produce and star in the upcoming film.

Kate Bosworth, known for her role in ‘Die, My Love,’ was a guest on the latest episode of the ‘Las Culturistas’ podcast, hosted by Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang.

On the podcast, she opened up about working with Stone and Cole Escola to produce a Muppets movie.

She revealed on the podcast that she and Emma Stone are producing a movie about Miss Piggy, with Cole writing the script.

This announcement follows her recent explanation of why she’s stopped sharing her political opinions publicly, particularly during Donald Trump’s presidency.

Lawrence revealed she was nearly cast in ‘Oh Mary!’ before the role ultimately went to Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski.

Escola reached out to her about being in his popular Broadway comedy, but unfortunately, she couldn’t accept due to other commitments.

Lawrence did not share any further details about her forthcoming Muppets-related project.

However, she did address another movie rumor about her starring in a remake of Death Becomes Her.

She denied the speculation but said she would ‘love’ to work on such a project.

She clarified it was just wishful thinking from fans. She added that she’d be thrilled to participate if given the opportunity, saying she’d definitely be involved.

She recently shared the reasons she decided to stop publicly criticizing Trump and talking about her political views.

Lawrence explained she didn’t want to risk turning away viewers who might be impacted by a film she made that could be truly meaningful or even world-changing, simply because she shared a potentially divisive political view.

She wants her work to reflect her beliefs, and she’s using her production company, Excellent Cadaver, to create documentaries on important subjects like abortion and international issues.

As a creator, I really believe in using my work to reflect what’s happening in the world around us. For me, that’s how I can best contribute – by making films that spark conversation and really capture the current political climate.

Last year, Lawrence shared in an interview that she planned to vote for Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, after former President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and Harris became the nominee challenging Trump.

In September 2024, she explained to People magazine that abortion rights are a key issue in the upcoming election. She’s voting for Kamala Harris, believing Harris is a strong candidate who will fight to protect those rights.

The most crucial thing is to prevent anyone from becoming president who would outlaw abortion.
