Jennifer Lawrence recalls “totally humiliating” experience with Robert Pattinson

Jennifer Lawrence shared a funny and embarrassing story about working with Robert Pattinson on their new movie, *Die, My Love*. She recounted the experience during an appearance on *The Graham Norton Show* this week.

Lawrence explained that director Lynne Ramsay pushed them during rehearsals. “Robert Pattinson and I were made to take interpretative dance lessons together,” she said. “We’re both easily embarrassed and didn’t know each other well, so it was incredibly awkward.”

On the very first day of shooting, she quizzed us about our previous actions and then shockingly asked if we’d be willing to perform them nude.

Her announcement seemed to surprise her fellow guests, including Bruce Springsteen, Jeremy Allen White, and Tessa Thompson. Lawrence playfully responded, “Was I not supposed to say that? You all look pretty shocked.”

While filming *Die, My Love*, Lawrence and Pattinson became close friends. Lawrence fondly remembers when Pattinson unexpectedly joined a girls’ night she was hosting at her house.

Lawrence shared another funny story about having friends over. They were all wearing pajamas and watching *Little Women* in December when her husband, Rob, texted saying he’d finished something nearby. Lawrence was excited because Rob loves to chat and hang out with her and her friends – he’s basically one of the girls! She immediately invited him over to join them.

Lawrence playfully compared Robert Pattinson to her “daughter,” explaining that he’s a responsible and punctual co-star, like a good parent. However, she joked that he’s a bit forgetful and she feels the need to take care of him, bringing out her motherly instincts.

So, she asked if I was hungry, and this is kinda embarrassing, but I actually had to dig food out of the trash while he was in the bathroom. Yeah, I know, it sounds bad, but that’s where the food was at the moment!

She described watching him eat something awful, saying, “We were all just sitting there watching him eat this junk.” Then, when he finished, he asked if there was any more.

Lawrence explained that when he offered the man a replacement, the man surprisingly said he didn’t mind and simply retrieved the food from the trash to continue eating it.

Die, My Love is slated to land in UK cinemas on 14 November 2025.
