Jennifer Lawrence cuts a glamorous figure in plunging black dress as she attends the London premiere of her new film Die My Love

Jennifer Lawrence looked stunning at the London Film Festival premiere of her new movie, Die My Love, on Friday.

The 35-year-old actress stunned on the red carpet in a sleek black dress with a low neckline.

The dress had a striking open back, and Jennifer completed her outfit with a bold gold and silver necklace.

The film star wore her blonde hair down and added height with open-toe heels.

Jennifer seemed cheerful before the movie premiere, leaving her hotel with a black jacket featuring a cozy shearling collar and cuffs.

Die My Love is adapted from a 2017 novel by Argentine author Ariana Harwicz. The story follows a new mother’s struggle with postpartum depression and the mental breakdown that follows.

Jennifer shared that she and her co-star, Robert Pattinson, have a nude interpretive dance scene in the movie.

The Academy Award-winning actor shared the story while on The Graham Norton Show, calling it a ‘completely embarrassing’ experience.

Jennifer recalled that director Lynne Ramsay pushed them hard during rehearsals. She and Robert Pattinson even had to take interpretative dance lessons together, which was incredibly embarrassing for both of them, as they didn’t know each other well and are both easily embarrassed.

On the first day of shooting, she asked us to recall our previous actions and then inquired if we’d be willing to perform them nude.

Bruce Springsteen, Jeremy Allen White, and Tessa Thompson, who were also guests on the show, looked surprised and confused. Jennifer playfully responded, ‘Should I have declined? You all seem really shocked!’

She explained how she got the part: Martin Scorsese suggested the project after reading the book with his book club, which she found charming.

He told me to take the role. I struggled to picture the story as a film after reading the book, but I wasn’t about to argue with Marty!

Jennifer plays Grace, a new mom struggling with her mental health as her marriage falls apart. Robert, age 39, stars as her husband, Jackson, in the film.

The actress shared that becoming a mother has completely shifted how she views her work, calling motherhood both ‘brutal and incredible.’

She added: ‘Well, having children changes everything.

It completely transforms your life, though it’s both incredibly challenging and amazing. Because of this, they consider it in every work decision I make – where, when, and even if I work.

It showed me a depth of feeling I never knew I possessed. Since my work involves understanding emotions, this was particularly impactful. It’s been a truly expansive experience, leaving me feeling incredibly sensitive – almost raw, like a fresh blister.

Having children has completely transformed my life and unlocked a new level of creativity. If you’re an actor, I wholeheartedly recommend becoming a parent.

This movie marks the first collaboration between Jennifer and Robert. Robert, who became a father last year with his partner Suki Waterhouse, agreed with Jennifer’s feelings about the project.

You know, as someone who’s observed a lot of life changes, I’ve found that becoming a parent is surprisingly energizing. It sounds counterintuitive, but a baby really does unlock this incredible wellspring of inspiration and motivation. It’s like they give you a whole new lease on life!

‘Ever since she was born, it’s reintegrated the way I approach work.’

Both Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson became well-known actors in the 2010s. Jennifer starred as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games movies, while Robert Pattinson achieved international fame playing Edward Cullen in the Twilight films.

Jennifer has been nominated for an Oscar four times, but she only won the Best Actress award once, in 2013, for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook.

Twelve years after winning her first Academy Award, Jennifer is receiving strong reviews for a new film that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17th, potentially putting her in contention for another Oscar.

While Robert and the rest of the cast, including Sissy Spacek, have received praise for their performances, Jennifer’s portrayal of a mentally vulnerable wife and mother is particularly remarkable.

According to Vogue’s Radhika Seth, film critics at Cannes are already predicting a potential Oscar nomination for her in 2026. While it’s been a long time – twelve years since her last win and ten since her last nomination – a compelling story about her return to acting could generate enough buzz for her performance, which many believe is exactly the kind of role Oscar voters love.

The film *Die, My Love* came out on May 17th and will be available in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on November 14, 2025.
