Jennifer Lawrence has spoken about returning for the next Hunger Games movie, hinting that fans will enjoy it. With the release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping just over ten months away, excitement is growing.
Last month, it was officially announced that Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will return as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in a new movie. The film will mostly take place 24 years before the events of the original series.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Josh Horowitz suggested that actor Lawrence connect with director Francis Lawrence. The actor playfully hinted that they might have already done so.

Horowitz joked that if you believe everything you read online, Lawrence quickly quipped back, “It is on the Internet, isn’t it?” When the host then asked if he thought people should watch the new movie, Lawrence gave a firm “Yes!”
Jennifer Lawrence has said she’d be open to returning as Katniss Everdeen. In a 2023 interview with Variety, she stated she would “100%” return if the opportunity arose.

Josh Hutcherson jokingly suggested that Suzanne Collins, the author of The Hunger Games, write more books in the series so he could reprise his role as Peeta. He shared that he thoroughly enjoyed playing Peeta and would be happy to do so again, calling the experience “incredible.”
I really love the character of Peeta and how he’s portrayed. I’m especially interested in seeing what happens with Peeta and Katniss after they start a family. If I could convince Suzanne Collins to write another book about that, I would be thrilled!
This action movie is adapted from Suzanne Collins’s 2025 novel of the same title. It centers on Haymitch Abernathy as he remembers his experiences during the 50th Hunger Games.

Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, both stars in all four Hunger Games movies, are able to reprise their roles through a storytelling technique where Haymitch shares memories of his past with Katniss and Peeta.
I’m so excited about the new Hunger Games movie! Woody Harrelson was amazing as Haymitch, but I’m really intrigued to see Joseph Zada take on the role. And the cast is incredible – Jesse Plemons, Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Mckenna Grace, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, and Maya Hawke are all going to be in it too! It’s going to be epic.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 20 November.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available, and this edition honors music superstar Dolly Parton! You can purchase ‘Dolly at 80’ at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
