MUBI, the streaming service, not only streams movies but also releases them in movie theaters and offers weekly cinema tickets as part of its subscription package. Established in 2007, this company specializes in distributing international, independent, or art-house films. Last year, they featured the film “The Substance” on their platform.

Under the direction of Lynne Ramsay, this film is an adaptation from Ariana Harwicz’s 2017 novel titled “Die, My Love.” The story follows a couple, played by Lawrence and Pattinson, who reside in a tranquil, rural American setting.

After childbirth, Lawrence experiences postpartum depression that later progresses into psychosis. Unfortunately, it appears her husband is unaware or unresponsive to the struggles she’s facing during this difficult time.

After being screened at Cannes, the movie titled “Die, My Love” currently holds an impressive rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 17 reviews from critics.

Several critics commended Ramsay for her skilled handling of the intentionally complex narrative and also appreciated Lawrence’s acting performance in the movie.

In simpler terms, “Little White Lies” was highly acclaimed as a deeply emotional depiction of postnatal mental illness. The Guardian found it to be incredibly intense, while Collider appreciated Lawrence’s comedic yet poignant acting performance.

In her own words, Variety shares how Lawrence described her postpartum period as incredibly isolating. She explained that intense feelings of anxiety and deep sadness make one feel isolated, regardless of the location. It’s as if you’re an outsider in your own world.

Die, My Love does not currently have a release date.

The inaugural print issue of Digital Spy’s magazine, titled “British Comedy Legends,” is available now! Purchase this fascinating read from your local newsagents or online for only £3.99.
