Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio reunite for ghost story “masterpiece”

Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio, who starred together in the hit satire *Don’t Look Up* a few years ago, are working together again. This time, they’re joining forces for a new film directed by the acclaimed Martin Scorsese.

According to Deadline, two major stars will be featured in the director’s upcoming Apple film, which will be based on the popular ghost story novel, *What Happens at Night*.

This story centers on an American couple who journey to a secluded, snow-covered town in Europe to adopt a child, hoping the experience will help revitalize their struggling marriage.

When they finally arrived at the large, imposing hotel, the wife was feeling sick from the trip, and her husband feared her illness would prevent them from enjoying their time with the baby.

The town and hotel are full of peculiar people, each with their own hidden agendas.

According to the report, Scorsese originally intended to just produce the film. However, after considering his future projects following *Killers of the Flower Moon*, he decided to direct it himself.

Upon its release in 2021, Peter Cameron’s novel received a swathe of great reviews.

Both *The Spectator* and *The Wall Street Journal* gave the book high praise. *The Spectator* called it one of the year’s best and highlighted its beautiful writing, while *The Wall Street Journal* celebrated it as a fresh take on classic Victorian ghost stories, with a style reminiscent of filmmakers Wes Anderson and David Lynch.

Fellow author Edmund White, who wrote A Boy’s Own Story, even called it a “masterpiece”.

The movie isn’t coming out for a while, but you can see the two main actors in other films shortly.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s new book, *One Battle After Another*, is being released this week to widespread praise. Jennifer Lawrence’s *Die, My Love*, coming out in November, is also getting excellent reviews.

Currently, there’s no information on when “What Happens at Night” will be released, but you can watch “Don’t Look Up” on Netflix right now.
