Jennifer Lawrence announced she and Emma Stone are producing a new Muppets movie centered around Miss Piggy. They may even appear in the film themselves!
Cole Escola’s new Broadway show, Oh, Mary!, was the topic of conversation when Bowen Yang, Matt Rogers, and Escola appeared on the Las Culturistas podcast.
Lawrence then shared that he and Emma Stone are producing a film about Miss Piggy, with Cole writing the script.

Details are still being kept secret, but fans of these two award-winning actors will likely be thrilled. Both have enjoyed successful careers around the same time, but surprisingly, they’ve never shared the screen together before.
Next year, Disney+ will bring back The Muppet Show in a special event. The special will be produced by Seth Rogen and feature singer Sabrina Carpenter, who will also appear on screen.

TV creator Adam F. Goldberg has talked about wanting Disney to build a large, interconnected universe around The Muppets, similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or Star Wars, with multiple movies, specials, and animated shows. He shared this idea with Gizmodo.
