Jennifer Hudson’s Cringe-Worthy Kesha Interview: Fans Slam ‘Garbage’ Skills
It has been criticized that Jennifer Hudson‘s interviewing skills were less than impressive, following an uncomfortable conversation she had with Kesha on her talk show.
Ever since Jennifer started her daytime show in 2022, there have been frequent criticisms about her stiff dialogues with her high-profile interview subjects at the age of 43.
Once more, my interview approach left some questioning my methods during a recent encounter with Kesha. Again, I find myself grappling with the responses I elicit.
Kesha enthusiastically disclosed that she acted as an extra in the 2006 film, Dreamgirls, which propelled Jennifer to fame and earned her an Academy Award.
Following a response that appeared overly surprised, Jennifer failed to take any action to further discuss the matter, not even inquiring about which scene Kesha was part of.
A multitude of spectators rushed towards the former Twitter platform to express their cringing responses to the interview, labeling Jennifer as an ‘odd’ and ‘terrible’ moderator, and the program as ‘unbearable to watch.’

On the program, Kesha mentioned she was an extra in Dreamgirls, and Jennifer responded with flair: “Is that so?” or simply “You’re kidding, right?
In a serious tone, Kesha raised her hand and emphasized the importance of the topic, then jokingly mentioned receiving around $120 for it. This caused Jennifer to laugh heartily and respond affectionately, “I adore you.
Kesha bravely attempted to continue the story, expressing: “I endured for 16 hours with my hair styled skyward like a divine offering. Oh my goodness, I must admit, I truly disliked it.
Despite repeated attempts, Jennifer failed to assist in maintaining the conversation flow. Consequently, the TikTok sensation awkwardly ended the discussion by saying something like this: “You all were fantastic, we felt more like extras than main characters. It was a grand venue, right downtown Los Angeles.
Audience members collectively sighed in dismay during the awkward conversation, with someone expressing their frustration on Twitter: “I had a discussion about this very topic with my friend last night! She really annoyed me. I gained absolutely no insight from the interview, and I’m pretty sure Kesha was thinking that lady was quite strange.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t express enough my admiration for Jennifer Hudson. However, when it comes to her talk show, she’s just not cutting it as an interviewer – at least in my opinion. What really keeps that show running is her charisma, ego, and the hard work of her team behind the scenes, rather than her on-air conversations themselves.
One person exclaimed, ‘Why wouldn’t you question that scene?’ while another was astonished, stating, ‘She’s simply terrible at interviews!’
In a state of disbelief, I couldn’t help but exclaim, “I never would have guessed JHUD was in the movie from this interview… quite a surprise!

Another user exclaimed, “Indeed, every interview she has on this program follows the same pattern.” They found it hard to watch, remarking that it was similar to observing scripted conversations between non-player characters (NPCs) in a video game.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to share an intriguing fact: Dreamgirls, the captivating film we all know and love, was born from a 1981 Broadway musical with the same name. Interestingly enough, this theatrical production had its roots in the compelling tale of The Supremes, albeit loosely, as the story took on a life of its own.
In the 2006 film, both Beyoncé and Jamie Foxx were part of an impressive ensemble, yet it was Jennifer who earned the Academy Award for her exceptional supporting role.
She gave an iconic performance of the musical’s pivotal, emotional love song titled “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” (or simply, she delivered a memorable rendition of the central showstopper ballad “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”)
