Jennifer Garner reveals parenting struggles after fight with daughter Violet Affleck
Jennifer Garner recently shared insights into her child-rearing experiences, following closely on the heels of her daughter, Violet Affleck, who penned an honest essay detailing a past disagreement between them.
53-year-old Garner candidly shared her personal challenges while talking about her organic kids’ food company, Once Upon a Farm, last Thursday evening.
During a rapid fire game she was asked: ‘What’s harder – raising kids or raising capital?’
Garner promptly replied: “Indeed, young ones!” Her fellow entrepreneur, John Foraker, who is the co-founder and CEO of Once Upon a Farm, concurred, saying: “Absolutely, children.
Jennifer Garner, known for her role in Alias, is the mother of three teenagers – Violet (age 19), Fin (previously Seraphina, who recently expressed identifying as non-binary at age 16), and Samuel (age 13). These children are shared with her ex-husband Ben Affleck.

In the initial phases of her motherhood, she disclosed a specific challenge that she faced – preparing suitable food for her newborn.
She shared, “I prepared pureed food for my children, but I found the process rather bothersome. Although I enjoy cooking, preparing baby food is not my cup of tea. It can be quite perplexing.
Consequently, she joined forces with Foraker and Once Upon a Farm, an enterprise valued at approximately $100 million.
Garner’s discussion took place following the stir caused by her daughter Violet’s Yale Global Health Review article, published on May 18th. This essay recounted an intense dispute between mother and daughter that occurred as they waited for the LA fires to subside, while staying in upscale lodgings in January.
While her mother, who had stepped forward to assist, was taken aback and amazed by the fires in Los Angeles, Violet found herself surprised at her mother’s surprise. As a native Californian and an educated member of Generation Z with a keen understanding of climate issues, it wasn’t a question of whether the Palisades would eventually burn but rather when this event would occur for her.
Violet posed her query not about if, but rather when, the Palisades might catch fire. Notably, she previously advocated for mandatory mask usage in public.
Elsewhere, she mocked pregnancy rumors about her.
When inquired about the whispers suggesting an upcoming ‘potential IPO,’ hinting at a scenario where a private corporation might sell its stocks publicly, Garner humorously replied, “They also claim I’m expecting.

Approximately five years back, some followers speculated about a potential baby bump hidden under her denim overall attire, as shown in one of her Instagram posts.
In response to recent speculations, I’d like to clarify a few things about my current situation. First and foremost, I am proudly 48 years old and a devoted parent to three wonderful, thriving children. Contrary to some rumors, I am not pregnant and never have been. Let’s put that notion to bed for good.
As for the ongoing pandemic, it’s safe to say I may have contracted COVID-19, but let me spin another yarn about that at a later time. For now, I remain focused on my family and maintaining our wellbeing during these challenging times.
Furthermore, Garner also responded to potential budget reductions, as Kim Last inquired about their opinions regarding the proposed reductions to the SNAP program and Medicaid, which might adversely affect the Women, Infants, and Children’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC) too.
She expressed her belief that just as food is provided from a high mountain, we should offer children straightforward, fresh, and healthy meals. It seems quite obvious, she emphasized.
On the one hand, we want to reduce SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and WIC benefits. However, it’s important to note that SNAP currently provides only around $6 per person per day in assistance. Given this reality, it’s challenging for families to deny their children nutritious food while simultaneously limiting ultra-processed foods. It’s also worth mentioning that we are planning to reduce any government assistance available.
She expressed concerns about children growing up malnourished within the nation’s borders, noting that a significant proportion – approximately 90% – of children experiencing food insecurity reside in rural areas.
Many children, even in areas where food is produced abundantly, such as the Central Valley of California (often referred to as our nation’s salad bowl), often find themselves shopping at convenience stores rather than traditional grocery stores.
Nothing here is fresh, particularly no potatoes, carrots, or apples.

Beyond this, she also disclosed her personal anecdotes and professional involvement with Save the Children, highlighting her efforts in championing children’s causes, particularly within Washington D.C., and emphasizing the significance of sustaining initiatives aimed at nourishing children in rural America.
She shared with the audience that she’s been fortunate to embark on Save the Children excursions twice: first, in Central Valley, California, and secondly, in Navajo Nation, New Mexico. She highlighted that these local food banks revealed a unique fact – that the children there had never tasted any fresh produce before except for Once Upon A Farm’s products.
Through Once Upon a Farm, Garner aims to make it easier for people to access wholesome, simple, genuine whole ingredients. Meanwhile, the company’s mission is to provide one million nutritious meals to children in rural America, a target they expect to achieve by June this year with the assistance of their new collaboration with Feeding Millions.
At the conclusion of their discussion, Garner recommended that people explore Angel City Football Club (ACFC), since Once Upon a Farm recently collaborated with the stadium following Natalie Portman’s persuasion – whom she referred to as both “incredible” and “elegant” – to invest in it.
