After four years, Greta Lee is now leaving The Morning Show.
Lee has been playing Stella Bak, the president of UBA’s news division, since 2021.
In the most recent episode of the fourth season, her character finds herself caught up in a scandal and takes off on a flight by herself.
Now, Lee reveals she believes Stella’s time on the show really has come to a close.
She told People magazine that she believes this is the end and a final goodbye. While acknowledging it’s difficult, she feels it’s important to honor the person she’s referring to and do what’s best for them.
Sometimes, a character’s story simply needs to conclude. For this character, it feels right to end things given everything she’s experienced. She began her journey with a lot of hope and optimism, but the world she knew has changed completely.
Season 4 begins in spring 2024, almost two years after the dramatic events of Season 3. It follows the aftermath of the company merger and Bradley’s struggle with her decision to erase footage of her brother, Hal, involved in the January 6th Capitol riot.
This season, the show really explores the changing power dynamics at UBN, focusing on Alex, Stella, and Celine Dumont. It also tackles big issues like the growing influence of artificial intelligence, the dangers of deepfakes, and how increasingly difficult it is to determine what’s real and who to trust in the news.
