Jennifer Aniston reveals she endured secret 20-year battle to have a baby as she hits back at claims she didn’t want to become a mother because she’s a ‘selfish workaholic’

Jennifer Aniston has revealed she endured a 20-year secret battle to have a baby.

Courteney Cox, 56, recently spoke with Harper’s Bazaar UK for their November issue, addressing the untrue idea that she chose her career over having children, and that she was a self-centered workaholic.

She explained that people weren’t aware of her personal struggles over the last two decades as she tried to start a family, because she keeps her health issues private.

It’s really no one else’s concern, but it’s gotten to the point where I can’t ignore the rumors. People are saying I won’t have a baby or a family because they think I’m too focused on my career and am selfish.

Of course it bothers me – I’m only human, and so is everyone else. That’s why I reacted the way I did – I just thought, ‘Why not?’

However, the older Jennifer gets, the less she feels the need to ‘correct a false narrative.’

She explained: ‘The news cycle is so fast, it just goes away.

Sometimes I feel a strong need to defend the truth – when I hear something false, I want to correct it.

‘And then I think, do I really? My family knows my truth, my friends know my truth.’

Oh my gosh, Jennifer and Brad… they were *everything* from 2000 to 2005! I was totally heartbroken when they split up. It was all over the tabloids, of course, but apparently, it happened because Brad met Angelina Jolie while filming ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’. Seriously, that movie ruined everything! I still ship Jen and Brad, you know?

In 2022, Jennifer shared the heartbreaking news that her attempts at IVF hadn’t worked, and expressed regret that she hadn’t frozen her eggs sooner.

‘It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,’ Jennifer said at the time.

In my late thirties and forties, I faced some incredibly difficult challenges. Looking back, I realize those experiences were essential to my personal growth. During that time, I was also trying to get pregnant.

I spent years trying to get pregnant, and it was incredibly difficult. I tried everything – years of hoping, IVF treatments, even traditional Chinese medicine. I really left no stone unturned.

I wish someone had told me to freeze my eggs earlier. It’s something I never considered, and now it’s too late. But honestly, I don’t dwell on it – I’m at peace with how things turned out.

When Jennifer was 35, she and Brad separated. She has stated that claims he ended their relationship because she didn’t want to have children are completely false.

Brad and Angelina had six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Maddox, Pax, and Zahara were adopted, while Knox, Vivienne, and Shiloh are their biological children.

The couple publicly separated in 2016 following a private plane argument where Angelina alleged Brad had been abusive towards her and their children.

Brad is thought to now have ‘virtually no contact with them.’

Meanwhile, Jennifer went on to marry actor Justin Theroux in 2015 when she was aged 46.

But theirs wasn’t to be a lasting romance. They divorced just three years later.

In March, Justin remarried – in a secret ceremony – to new love Nicole Brydon Bloom.

According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail in March, Jennifer was among the first to offer Justin her congratulations on his wedding.

She wasn’t expecting it, but they’ve remained good friends, and she’s genuinely happy he’s found someone he loves.

Although Aniston is happy for Theroux and his new, younger wife, the news was a little difficult for her, according to a source.

Jennifer discussed the challenges of being a successful actress in Hollywood as she gets older, and pushed back against the idea that people in the public eye have a limited shelf life.

She explained that the traditional idea of people having a limited ‘shelf life’ is outdated and no longer relevant.

We make up over half the population, and frankly, many of you wouldn’t be here without us.

Experienced women offer incredibly valuable insights, and the film industry is finally starting to recognize and include them more often.

In July, Jennifer announced she was dating Jim Curtis, a charismatic hypnotist, and confirmed they were in a loving relationship.

Just days after DailyMail.com first reported that Jennifer Aniston spent the Fourth of July with a life coach, she was seen showing affection for him during a romantic yacht trip in Mallorca.

According to a source, Jennifer is currently dating Jim and is very happy, though she’s proceeding cautiously.

Her friends are thrilled about her new relationship, and everyone who’s met her partner thinks they’re a great fit.

Both of them are dedicated to personal growth, and Jen particularly admires Jim’s commitment to self-improvement.

Jen is a devoted reader of self-help books, and she feels like meeting Jim was meant to be.

You know, I’m really seeing a strong connection between Jen and Jim. They just *get* each other on a deeper level – it’s like they’re operating on the same wavelength emotionally. It’s refreshing, especially because Jen has mentioned feeling a disconnect with people she’s dated before. It’s all about emotional intelligence, and they clearly match up in that area – a huge key to a lasting relationship, in my experience!

The November issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK is on sale from October 9.
