Jennifer Aniston, 55, calls Lisa Kudrow a ‘superwoman’ on her 61st birthday… after they squabbled over ‘hating studio audience laughter’ comment
As a fan who has grown up with Friends, I must say that Lisa Kudrow’s recent revelations about her co-star Matthew Perry have touched my heart. It’s heartwarming to know that she cherishes the memories of their laughter-filled days on set and finds solace in rewatching those episodes.
On Tuesday, Jennifer Aniston posted a birthday message for her friend Lisa Kudrow as she celebrated her 61st birthday.
55-year-old star from The Morning Show shared an old picture on Instagram Stories, reminiscing a scene from the popular 90’s TV series Friends where she was featured.
Lisa was in a Supergirl outfit and Jennifer was in a strapless black dress with a dainty necklace.
In my experience as both a writer and a friend, I find that expressing affection and appreciation through personalized messages can be incredibly meaningful. A birthday message like “Happy birthday to this superwoman! I love you Floosh!” is heartwarming because it shows thoughtfulness and genuine feelings towards the recipient. The red heart emoji adds an extra touch of warmth and intimacy, making the message feel more personal and sincere. This kind of message can brighten someone’s day and make them feel special, especially on their birthday. It is a small gesture that can have a big impact on someone’s life, reminding them of the love and support they have in their circle.
Jennifer portrayed the spoiled character Rachel Green, while Lisa took on the role of the eccentric, blonde Phoebe Buffay. Jennifer often refers to her former co-star as Floosh.
After Jennifer asserted that Lisa found the studio audience’s laughter during the taping of Friends unpleasant, this statement follows.
Lisa then said that was not totally true and explained herself.
On Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, the actress shared her reasons for feeling uncomfortable when the crowd laughed at her jokes due to their presence.
She found herself growing annoyed as the laughter from them went on for quite some time, not finding it particularly amusing. She clarified this to O’Brien, stating that it was their prolonged, insincere laughter that irked her.
She added: “It’s similar to, ‘you’re disrupting the rhythm of the remainder of the performance now.’ At times, I’d glance over if they were laughing excessively, and say, ‘let’s move on,’ quite impatiently.”
The Emmy winner worked with Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry.
She went on to explain that their show was ‘not for the studio audience.’
She emphasized that the production is tailored for television audiences at home, explaining that her role is to cater to their needs. If this were a stage play, she would find ways to keep herself occupied during pauses, but since it’s being filmed, she feels more like a stationary figure.
Kudrow admitted that the noise she made caused her to perform actions she disliked, such as pretending to agree by nodding and saying “That’s right! I said that!” in approval.
She mentioned further that the opening act for the show explicitly warned the audience against repeating such behavior.
The woman with one child, wedded to Michel Stern, highlighted that approximately six to eight hours would be required to film a thirty-minute episode of the cherished show.
As a connoisseur of all things related to lifestyle and entertainment, I must share an intriguing tidbit: For the second time this month, Jennifer Aniston’s co-star, Lisa Kudrow, has expressed feelings of frustration during live performances, particularly in her iconic role on Friends, which graced our screens from 1994 to 2004.
At the start of this month, she shared with Entertainment Tonight that it was annoying for her when the studio audience continued laughing excessively.
‘May they be fortunate, for their enthusiasm was infectious. At times, their laughter lasted longer than usual, as if they found the event more amusing than any other occasion,’ Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion actress remarked.
Lisa stated, “I replied, ‘Alright, cool it down. This isn’t all that amusing. There’s more to discuss!'”
After Aniston mentioned during her Actors on Actors interview with Variety, Kudrow disliked it when the crowd laughed as they were filming Friends. This clarification follows that statement.
‘She’d be like, “I’m not done! It’s not that funny!”‘
Recently, Kudrow shared that she’s been watching Friends episodes again as a way to remember her late co-star, Matthew Perry, in a special and enduring manner.
She explained that watching episodes allowed her to celebrate Perry, who died in October at age 54.
She admitted to THR that she couldn’t bear watching the video because it felt awkward to see herself. However, discussing it in terms of Matthew made it acceptable. Essentially, she wants to recall and celebrate his incredible humor instead.
Kudrow reflected on the days on set with Perry – who she said left her crying with laughter.
She mentioned that you’re often chuckling throughout the day, as these individuals are quite humorous. Particularly Matthew, who aimed to elicit laughter in real life daily. Consequently, we found ourselves laughing heartily, with tears streaming down our faces regularly.
Reportedly, the actor passed away on October 28, 2023 due to an overdose, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, in his own hot tub at his residence.
The manner in which the actor passed away was determined as an accident, and the autopsy report published in May revealed that he succumbed due to the immediate impacts of ketamine.
Factors that played a role were identified as drowning, heart disease related to the coronary arteries, and the influence of buprenorphine, a medication frequently utilized for managing individuals with opioid dependency issues.
At the time of his passing, it became known that Perry had been receiving treatments involving repeated ketamine injections.
Last December, a healthcare professional hinted to Page Six that it was probable the actor might have illegally procured ketamine for personal, recreational purposes.
Despite being on ketamine treatment for anxiety and depression when he passed away, the autopsy report stated that the ketamine found in his system at the time of death was not associated with the infusion therapy he was receiving.
Law enforcement now believe ‘multiple people’ should be charged.
When the Friends star died the LAPD began an investigation into the circumstances of his overdose.
According to a recent report by People, an investigative source from law enforcement has stated that the investigation is almost finished.
It remains unclear which individuals could be implicated in potential charges, as the original source stated. However, any decisions regarding further action would be made by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
According to a recent report, Brooke Mueller, who was previously married to Charlie Sheen, has spoken with the Los Angeles Police Department on several occasions regarding Perry’s death. This follows reports that they developed a connection while both were in rehabilitation centers at different times.
During the course of the investigations, Mueller did not get arrested or handcuffed; instead, it appears that she has been actively collaborating with the criminal probe, as reported by multiple sources to InTouch magazine.
A source informed the magazine that she’s consulted legal representation and held numerous discussions with law enforcement following their raid on her recovery home under a search warrant. The source also mentioned that she’s keeping quiet regarding the matter.
