According to Deadline, the duo are now part of the unnamed project led by JJ Abrams. Besides directing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and various installments in the Star Trek and Mission: Impossible series, Abrams is also known for this role.

The popular Netflix series is coming back for a second season next year, as confirmed by Ortega in May. Production for the new episodes has already started in Ireland. Additionally, Ortega mentioned that some new faces have joined the cast, with Billie Piper and Steve Buscemi added to the roster.

Leaving behind his earlier roles in “Scream Queens” and “Everybody Wants Some!!”, Powell has achieved broader recognition over the past couple of years with appearances in movies like “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Anyone But You”, “Hit Man”, and most recently, “Twisters”. This latest film is a standalone sequel to the 1996 classic “Twister”.

In this movie, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, we follow a fresh team of tornado investigators based in Oklahoma. The ensemble cast includes Powell, alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos, Maura Tierney, and Sasha Lane. They work together to explore a string of tornadoes.

Actor Tom Powell, known for his role as Lieutenant Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin in Top Gun: Maverick, has given some fresh news regarding the potential third installment of the series. He revealed that he already has a scheduled production start date for this upcoming action movie.

Wednesday streams on Netflix, while Twisters is in cinemas now.
