Jenna Ortega shares “unbelievably cool” Lady Gaga experience on Wednesday
Jennifer Ortega reminisced about the time Lady Gaga showed up on the set of Wednesday, saying it was “incredibly awesome.
This upcoming year, Netflix will bring back the enigmatic comedy-mystery series inspired by The Addams Family, titled “Wednesday,” for another season. In this installment, we follow Wednesday Addams (played by Ortega), who is now enrolled at Nevermore Academy, where her story unfolds further.
Despite the secrecy surrounding the storyline for the next season, it became known in November that Lady Gaga is part of the cast. However, the specifics about her character have yet to be revealed.

Although Gaga’s character is enshrouded in mystery, Ortega, who’s known for his work in the Scream series, has disclosed some behind-the-scenes insights about Lady Gaga joining the set. He admitted that he was taken aback when the singer actually appeared during filming, expressing surprise at her unexpected arrival.
Ortega shared with Film Updates, “She’s incredibly hard to put into words how cool she is!” He continued, “I can’t fathom how she manages it, but she does. It was beyond our expectations that she would actually attend, even on such short notice. The whole experience felt surreal. Yet, she remains so gracious – kind and simply a delightful individual to be around.
Indeed, she’s incredibly gifted, and it was truly enjoyable for both Tim Burton and me to get to know her. It seemed almost surreal, as if it were too good to be true. Frankly, we never expected such an opportunity would come our way, so we felt nothing but grateful and appreciative. We hold her in high regard.
Ortega, who is set to appear in the upcoming movie “Death of a Unicorn“, has recently hinted at details for season 2 of “Wednesday“. He mentioned that horror films like “Carrie ” and “Prom Night” inspired a unique, slasher-style episode in the new season.
The actor, doubling as a producer, described the scene as visually providing one of our greatest laughs: “It’s hard to put into words, but you can see it in the shot where Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) is rolling his eyes back with that device on his head…
It’s quite extraordinary. Incredibly unusual… An entire episode is dedicated to the theme of slasher movies, and we make numerous horror-themed references… It seems we were given a bit more freedom, which allowed us to create larger, more intricate scenes, which is delightful.
Wednesday streams on Netflix. Season 2 is in production.
