Jenna Ortega reflects on her forgotten MCU role in Iron Man 3

Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has reflected on her forgotten role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Iron Man 3.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ortega revealed that one of her first movie roles was in the 2013 MCU movie, though fans may not have clocked her.

Appearing alongside MCU star Paul Rudd to discuss their new movie Death of a Unicorn, the interviewer told the pair: “I’m hoping that we can get Jenna Ortega into the Marvel Universe.”

“It was one of the first jobs I ever did,” Ortega revealed. “They took all my lines out. I’m in Iron Man 3 for a quick second. I take up the frame, I have one leg and I’m the vice president’s daughter.”

The interviewer commented, “I’m sure they wish they had thought of that themselves by now,” then Rudd proposed his own idea.

“Marvel is very good at, like, kind of laying those bread crumbs,” he said. “And so it might very well be that you come back. That they are going to create something for you, cause they should be so lucky to have Jenna Ortega in their franchise.”

Replying to Rudd, Ortega seemed to shut down the idea, saying: “They even took my name away. I count that, then I move on.”

Meanwhile, Ortega has confirmed that the upcoming second season of Wednesday will feature an “elaborate” slasher episode, which will draw from horror classics like Carrie and Prom Night.

“I just feel like there are a lot of scenes and frames, and there’s a whole episode based off of slashers, and we make a lot of horror references. So, everything about it, I feel like we kind of had a little bit more trust, and therefore, we felt like we could do bigger, more elaborate sequences, which is nice.”

Death of a Unicorn will be released in US cinemas on March 28 and UK cinemas on April 4.
