Jenna Ortega lands next lead movie role
As a long-time fan of captivating storytelling and exceptional performances, I am absolutely thrilled by Jenna Ortega‘s latest venture into the world of “The Gallerist.” With her impressive track record, including the critically acclaimed “Wednesday,” this young actress continues to prove that she is a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.
Jenna Ortega is in talks to star in new movie The Gallerist.
The Wednesday star is eyeing up a lead role in the film, which is set to co-star Natalie Portman.
As a passionate art enthusiast, I’ve learned that, according to Deadline, the upcoming movie is all about a frantic gallery owner devising a daring plan to peddle a deceased artist at Art Basel Miami.
The film titled “The Gallerist” is set to be helmed by Cathy Yan, known for her work on “Birds of Prey“, and she will collaborate with James Pedersen in scripting the feature.
Beyond just acting, Portman will also be involved as a producer in the project, joining forces with Sophie Mas, Jonathan King, Ash Sarohia, Tom McCarthy, Rae Baron, and Zola Elgart Glassman.
At present, Ortega is engrossed in the production of season 2 of Wednesday, as evidenced by a backstage video clip that Netflix posted on set in late September.
The teaser gives a first look at Ortega in the titular role for season 2, before concluding with her in voiceover: “If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed… and I’m not that generous.”
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán are set to reprise their iconic roles as Morticia and Gomez Addams in the upcoming series! Moreover, Emma Myers, who brought Enid Sinclair to life in ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’, will be back among the students at Nevermore Academy. I can hardly wait to see what adventures await them all!
In the second season, slated for 2025, we will welcome some fresh faces to our cast. These include Billie Piper from “Scoop”, Joanna Lumley from “Fool Me Once”, Steve Buscemi known for “Boardwalk Empire”, and Thandiwe Newton, who has appeared in “Westworld”.
Beyond her obligations scheduled for Wednesday, Ortega is also engaged in a fresh, as-yet-unnamed project helmed by the director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J Abrams. This new venture kicks off its filming next year.
Additionally, she’s set to star as the main character in Taika Waititi’s upcoming film adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel “Klara and the Sun.” She’ll be acting alongside Amy Adams and Natasha Lyonne from the series “Poker Face.
Wednesday season 1 is available to stream now on Netflix. Season 2 is expected in 2025.
