Jenna Ortega, known for her role in Wednesday, was seen on set in Paris for the first time filming the show’s third season. Her style was described as gothic.
The 23-year-old actress, known for her role as Wednesday Addams in the popular Netflix series, wore her character’s signature black outfit while filming outside.
Jenna styled her dark hair in pigtails and wore a leather trench coat as she met up with her co-star, Fred Armisen, 59, who plays Uncle Fester.
Oh my gosh, it was incredible! Tim Burton himself was there, actually directing! I could see him talking to the actors between shots, really working with them to get everything just right. He was so hands-on, trying to make sure every single take was absolutely perfect – it was a dream!
Filming has shifted from Ireland to Paris, and the show has added three new cast members as part of a significant change to the actors involved.
Lena Headey, famous for her role as Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones, is joining the cast of a new series alongside James Lance, known for Ted Lasso, and Andrew McCarthy, who starred in Pretty In Pink.
The show, which had the biggest first season of any English-language series on Netflix, doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet. However, many viewers anticipate the next season will also be released in two parts, just like the second season was.
We don’t yet know what roles Lena (52), James (50), and Andrew (63) will have in the show, but they’re joining a cast that already includes many talented actors.
The cast also includes Eva Green, known for her role in Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, Winona Ryder from Stranger Things, Noah Taylor of Game of Thrones, Oscar Morgan who appeared in Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Kennedy Moyer from Task, and Chris Sarandon, famous for Dog Day Afternoon.
The core cast of the Addams Family will be back, with Jenna Ortega reprising her role as Wednesday, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and Luis Guzmán as Gomez.
Emma Myers will be back as Enid Sinclair, along with Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Billie Piper as Isodora Capri, and Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump. Many other characters will also be returning.
Although specific details about season three are still scarce, the story will continue directly after the cliffhanger ending of the last season. Viewers will remember Wednesday’s friend, Enid, is missing, and Wednesday herself had a vision of her own death.
Winona Ryder, 54, known for her role in the original Beetlejuice, will return for the sequel. The announcement came in March, and means she’ll be working again with director Tim Burton and co-star Jenna Ortega.
She’s worked with acclaimed director Tim Burton many times – they’ve collaborated on four films throughout her successful career.
The director expressed his excitement about Winona joining the project, saying she’s a perfect fit for the film’s atmosphere and a close friend he’s always happy to collaborate with.
Tim Burton and Winona Ryder have collaborated on several projects, including the 1988 gothic horror film Beetlejuice. They are working together again on the 2024 Beetlejuice sequel, this time alongside Jenna Ortega, known for her role in Wednesday.
Al Gough and Miles Millar, who created, run, and executive produce the show, announced they’re starting production on Season Three and are excited to welcome viewers back to Nevermore Academy.
