Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd take on a mythical creature in Death of a Unicorn trailer

As a film enthusiast with a penchant for the bizarre and unconventional, I must admit that I am utterly captivated by the trailer for A24’s upcoming dark comedy, “Death of a Unicorn.” My love for cinema has led me on many wild adventures through countless genres, but this film promises to be a unique journey like no other.

Couldn’t it be 2025 already? Honestly! Studio A24 has unveiled the official trailer for their upcoming dark comedy titled “Death of a Unicorn”, and I must admit that our anticipation to watch this movie was already high, but after seeing the teaser, we’re absolutely hooked!

The movie features Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega playing a father-daughter pair who unintentionally end up in a perplexing predicament following the death of a mythical creature, namely a unicorn. It’s an intriguing storyline, isn’t it? You’ll be thrilled to know that there are several other renowned actors in the cast too, including Richard E. Grant, Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, Jessica Hynes, and Steve Park.

Alex Scharfman made his first full-length directorial effort with a film he wrote, produced, and guided. Before this, he had only directed a short movie. He’s most recognized for producing movies such as “Selah and the Spades,” “Blow the Man Down,” “Resurrection,” and “House of Spoils.” The dark comedy will be distributed by A24. (Paraphrased version)

Here’s an alternative presentation of the plot for Death of a Unicorn. Father and daughter duo, Elliot and Riley, are on their way to a weekend getaway arranged by Elliot’s wealthy employer. Unfortunately, they strike and kill what appears to be a unicorn on the road. In a fluster, they transport the mythical creature in their vehicle and proceed to the retreat. Upon arrival, however, the unicorn miraculously revives, piquing the curiosity of Elliot’s boss.

Following the acquisition of the unicorn, Elliot’s superior and his team delve into researching it and find that its body parts, particularly its horn, hold extraordinary healing abilities which they wish to exploit. Unfortunately, events take a sinister turn as the vindictive creature embarks on a killing spree.

As of now, there’s no specific date set for the premiere of “Death of a Unicorn”. But, rest assured, it’s been confirmed for a cinema release in spring 2025. This suggests a window between March and June. Here’s hoping we get to watch it early next spring! After catching a glimpse of the trailer, I can hardly wait to see the movie!
