Jenelle Evans has clarified her relationship status following speculation that she’s getting back together with her ex-husband, David Eason. This comes less than a year after she publicly celebrated their divorce in a rather unique way – by hitting a piñata resembling him at a strip club.
Following pictures of her and a companion with their kids surfacing from a trip to Las Vegas, Evans, age 34, discussed her romantic life on the La Femme Talk podcast.
Evans explained that she is now focused on co-parenting and starting a fresh, positive chapter for her children, especially considering everything they’ve been through.
She emphasized the importance of focusing on co-parenting right now, explaining that her children had already experienced a lot in the past, and everyone is working to build happier memories moving forward.
Evans said she was just generally focused on co-parenting with all of her children.
Chelsea Houska shares daughter Ensley Jolie Eason with her husband, Cole DeBoer. She also has a 16-year-old son, Jace, with her ex, Andrew Lewis, and a 10-year-old son, Kaiser, with her ex, Nathan Griffin.
Currently, my priority is creating a positive coparenting relationship with my exes. I want things to be as friendly as possible, and I’m happy if that means my daughter sees us getting along – even having meals together. As long as we can all maintain a good relationship, that’s what matters most.
She explained that she’s moved past a difficult past, and she’s happy her children are witnessing this positive change.
After photos surfaced on TMZ of Evans with her children in Las Vegas this weekend, she responded to rumors about getting back together with Eason.
She seemed to be responding to recent photos when she posted on Twitter, saying that just because she’s co-parenting doesn’t mean she’s facing difficulties. She playfully added that she was sorry to disappoint anyone who thought otherwise.
Evans also discussed her son, Jace, 16, who is currently receiving mental health care. This comes after an incident on February 22nd where he allegedly pointed a gun at his grandmother, Barbara Evans, prompting her to call emergency services.
The MTV alum said her son is ‘very happy right now’ and is in a ‘safe place.’
Let me share something personal with you. I’ve been keeping pretty quiet online lately, and there’s a reason for that. I’ve been proactively seeking support for my son when he needs it, and I’m happy to say he’s in a safe and nurturing environment where we’re focusing on his overall well-being. It’s been a holistic approach, really prioritizing all aspects of his health.
She said he’s in a really good place and is prioritizing his own well-being, which she feels is what matters most.
Evans and Eason split in 2024, and their divorce became official in 2025. Evans then celebrated with a party at the Spearmint Rhino strip club in New York.
She told TMZ that now that David is no longer in the picture, she’s feeling fantastic, much less stressed, and completely liberated.
In 2024, Jenelle and David separated after being married for six years. She claimed he struggled with unpredictable behavior, drug use, and unemployment, and also reminded everyone about the incident where he shot their dog, Nugget, back in 2019.
MTV first fired Eason in 2018 due to offensive tweets targeting LGBTQ+ people. Then, in 2019, after nine seasons on Teen Mom 2, he was fired again following the death of their dog, Nugget, which he shot and killed.
Evans first told the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office that her husband had shot their dog. Later, she said she hadn’t witnessed the shooting and hadn’t seen any proof the dog was actually killed.
This led police to close the case, but months later, Eason confessed to shooting and killing the small dog, saying it had bitten their two-year-old daughter, Ensley Jolie.
People first got to know Evans in 2010 when she was on the second season of the MTV reality show, 16 and Pregnant.
