Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo talks how she left prostitution to become ‘the trailer park Barbara Walters’

Alyssa DeFord, also known as Bunnie Xo, gained fame through her marriage to Jelly Roll and her popular podcast, Dumb Blonde. However, before finding success, she overcame a difficult and troubled history marked by violence.

Originally from Las Vegas, the woman had a difficult childhood. She experienced severe abuse growing up in a trailer park and left home at just 14 years old to escape her stepmother’s family.

“No child should have to experience growing up with violence – it fundamentally changes who they are,” Bunnie Xo shared with People magazine on Wednesday.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a strange, unwavering belief that things will always work out for the best. Even when others doubted me and predicted failure, I remained confident and thought, ‘Just you wait, I’ll prove them wrong.’

Once known online as ‘Trailerpark Barbie Walters,’ the woman experienced a difficult life marked by prostitution, drug addiction, and trauma. By the age of 16, she had an abortion and was later sexually assaulted. Between 1999 and 2006, she faced periods of homelessness and was arrested seven times.

On November 4th, Bunnie Xo, a social media personality with over 18 million followers, revealed on Instagram that she was arrested at age 26 for soliciting an undercover police officer while on a casino floor.

I can still vividly remember how addiction changed my appearance – the way it showed in my skin, the redness in my eyes, and the empty look that came from not caring about the future. I was completely consumed by addiction, just focused on getting through each day. Combined with a constant feeling of being a victim, it was a dangerous combination.

She explained that she’d stopped working as an escort, partly because she was tired of exploiting people, but mostly because she was exhausted with the life she was living. She realized she was both the cause of her problems and the only one who could fix them, and she needed to take responsibility for her choices.

Even while enduring two difficult marriages, Bunnie Xo continued working as an escort until 2020 and maintained an OnlyFans account until 2023. She first met Jelly Roll in 2015, and they married in 2016.

The blonde, covered in tattoos, explained to People magazine that she was unknowingly seeking her father’s affection in her relationships, which eventually led to a pattern. She initially believed she was regaining control after experiencing abuse, but now realizes she was simply focused on surviving.

I realize I allowed difficult experiences from my childhood to negatively affect me as I grew up, and I fully own my part in that. When sharing your story with someone, it’s crucial to be completely honest – including the positive, the challenging, and everything in between.

Now 41, this individual began a cycle of incarceration at age 13 with a marijuana possession charge. Since then, he’s been arrested and jailed roughly 40 times for various offenses, including repeatedly violating his probation, failing drug tests, and possessing crack cocaine with the intention of selling it.

Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, was motivated to change his life for the better after his daughter, Bailee Ann DeFord, was born. He is also a father to a nine-year-old son named Noah Buddy DeFord.

Bunnie Xo encourages everyone to believe in themselves, no matter their past or background. She believes you have the power to transform your life, regardless of your age or current circumstances.
