Jelly Roll shows off his 110lb weight loss as he poses with his wife Bunnie XO at the 2024 CMA Awards
As I delve into the inspiring journey of this remarkable individual known as Jelly, my admiration for his resilience and determination grows exponentially. The transformation he has undergone – not only physically but also mentally – is truly astounding. From shedding over 100 pounds to adopting a healthier lifestyle, it’s evident that Jelly embodies the spirit of perseverance and dedication.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I recently achieved an incredible 110-pound weight loss milestone! My beloved partner, Bunnie XO, and I were overjoyed to celebrate this transformative journey together at the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday evening.
In a recent interview with People, the 39-year-old opened up about his transformation from a lifestyle centered around alcohol and drugs to one focused on physical fitness and healthier eating habits.
After transforming his lifestyle and successfully shedding 100 pounds beyond his target, the musician confidently showcased his fresh physique at this week’s award ceremony.
He and his spouse were part of the large group of famous country music artists who attended the concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
Radiating joy, Jelly sported a casual short-sleeved shirt atop a black T-shirt while posing for a photo alongside Bunnie XO and artist Megan Moroney.
That night, Jelly drew attention to his streamlined physique, clad in black, as he took the stage to perform a version of his hit song Believe, collaboratively created with Brooks + Dunn.
He layered a black jacket over a matching top and trousers for the performance, as well as a cross in keeping with the song’s religious theme.
That evening, the artist originally from Nashville shared the spotlight with Keith Urban. Together, they sang “Liar,” a track off Jelly’s latest album, Beautifully Broken.
With an impressive display of pyrotechnics, a backdrop of flaring fire ignited behind the two gentlemen while they crooned, making Jelly’s silhouette stand out more distinctly.
Recently, Jelly discussed with a magazine that he estimates he’s lost between 60 to 70 pounds since launching his Beautifully Broken tour in August, all on his own.
He’s now shared insights into his fitness routine while traveling, a change from the previous party-centric lifestyle he was deeply involved with.
The musician has reassessed his relationship with food – and is now reaping the benefits.
He confided to the magazine that for the past 39 years, he had been engaged in a struggle against food addiction, altering his perspective on food altogether.
Food and I haven’t had a balanced relationship, making it challenging initially. However, when you establish the necessary self-discipline and dedication, it feels as if a snowball starts rolling downhill. Once that initial step is taken, the momentum takes over.
Every day while on tour, Jelly joins his group for a game of basketball and places great emphasis on maintaining a balanced diet and regular physical activity.
He mentioned that it’s remarkable since at one point in his life, the environment I created during my tours was just the opposite. Instead of being centered around alcohol and drugs, it thrived on a different cultural vibe.
As a dedicated enthusiast, I’ve found myself deeply immersed in a lifestyle that revolves around three key aspects: nourishing my body with wholesome meals, keeping active, and taking time each day to connect emotionally with my fellow travel companions. This tour culture has become more than just an itinerary for me; it’s a way of life that fosters well-being in mind, body, and spirit.
As a child, the star admits he struggled with an addiction to food, but over time, he’s cultivated both the self-control and dedication needed to embark on a fresh journey.
Last month, the country star opened up about his physical transformation in an Instagram video while detailing his diet and grueling exercise routine ahead of his Beautifully Broken Tour.
To slim down, the two-time Grammy nominee took up boxing, basketball and walking arenas.
He mentioned, “Next year, when you meet me again, you might not even recognize me. I plan on subjecting myself to a considerable amount of weight, unlike anything I’ve done before.
He continued: ‘When I see y’all in March for Canada, dawg, y’all aren’t gonna recognize me.’
In the same recording, Ian Larios, the personal chef for the artist known as the Son of a Sinner, mentioned that before going on stage, his client enjoys a banana drizzled with Manuka honey, sweetened with stevia, and sprinkled with dark chocolate shavings.
Following his performance, Jelly savors a healthier version of Nashville hot chicken, prepared by his nutritionist by “removing the oil and batter from it.
Later, the chicken is accompanied by crispy French fries dusted with seasoned breadcrumbs. This not only increases its protein content, but also provides a delightful crunchy texture as they are air-fried.
In essence, this imitates the taste of authentic Nashville fried chicken but with a healthier twist. It’s been air-fried instead, offering a home-like dining experience. Plus, it’s rich in protein and assists in maintaining a balanced diet.
Larios raved: ‘That 100-pound weight loss goal from last tour is huge.’
As a devoted admirer, I’m excited to share that in the month of April, the artist – better known by his stage name – confessed to making significant strides in his personal journey towards weight loss, expressing he had been consistently performing exceptionally well in this endeavor.
He shared with People that he has lost around 70 pounds and has been putting in a lot of effort, saying “I’ve been absolutely killing it.” He walks between two to three miles daily, for four to six days a week. Additionally, he spends about 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna and takes a cold plunge for six minutes each day. Currently, he is focusing on eating healthily.
In his continued speech, the Save Me star expressed that although he currently feels fantastic regarding his weight loss, he intends to shed an additional approximately 100 pounds.
If I’m feeling this great at this weight, I can hardly wait to see how fantastic I’ll feel once I embark on my tour,” he anticipated.
Jelly has embarked on a nationwide journey for the Beautifully Broken Tour, sharing the stage with Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay. The tour commenced in August.
For the last year, Jelly attributes his improved mental state to his partner Bunnie XO, or Alyssa DeFord, who has consistently supported and motivated him throughout this period.
In 2015, they crossed paths for the first time at a concert he performed in Las Vegas. The next year, they got married with his two kids standing by their side.
Jelly is a doting parent to his two children, Bailee, aged 15, and Noah, who’s seven. Both of them were born in past relationships.
