Jelena Dokic reflects on her ‘amazing’ year as she jets off on European vacation… after ‘hard launching’ relationship with Yane Veselinov

As I prepare for my upcoming European vacation, I, a devoted follower, can’t help but look back and marvel at the extraordinary year I’ve had, just as Jelena Dokic has expressed.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting personal news: I’ve been fortunate enough to embark on a new romantic journey with my partner, Yane Veselinov. We’re diving headfirst into this beautiful adventure together, and I couldn’t be more eager to see where it takes us!

On Thursday, the commentator shared on Instagram that she was enjoying a well-deserved break.

Jelena posted a picture, grinning broadly while unwinding during a Qatar Airways business-class trip.

Already fresh-faced and relaxed, Jelena showed little sign of being in desperate need of a break.

‘An amazing 12 months,’ Jelena gushed in the caption. ‘Couldn’t have asked for more.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m utterly engrossed, overjoyed, and profoundly thankful for the whirlwind of experiences I’ve been privileged to embrace. It’s now time for me to step back, unwind, and rejuvenate. In a few weeks, I’ll be making my way across the Atlantic to Europe, eagerly anticipating our next encounter.

She accompanied the sentiment with the hashtags: #timetorecharge, #recharge,  #randr, and #europe.

The post received a flood of backing for Jelena, with comedian Joel Creasey expressing his affection as: “I love Queen Jelena.

Others were quick to wish Jelena a hearty bon voyage.

‘I couldn’t be more happy for you Jelena,’ one fan gushed. ‘More deserving than anyone I know.’

A different voice added: ‘Enjoy yourself, it’s well-deserved! I hope your partner is there too, so you can both marvel at the beauty of this country, Croatia.’

After becoming Instagram official with her new boyfriend, Yane, earlier this month, Jelena shared a cheerful post filled with sunshine.

It follows the couple being seen cuddling at Melbourne Airport in May. 

Towards the end of last year, it was disclosed that Jelena had closed herself off to the possibility of love following her separation from her long-term partner, Tin Bikic from Brazil.

For nearly two decades, I’ve shared an incredible journey with my partner. However, in 2021, we made the difficult decision to part ways and embark on separate paths.

In the past year, I’ve found myself immersed in more than just a blossoming relationship. My plate has been full, especially with my commitment to providing insightful tennis commentary for Channel Nine.

In my own journey, I’ve proudly shared my transformative weight loss experience, managing to lose a staggering 20 kilograms along the way.

In June, Jelena posted on Instagram, showcasing a side-by-side comparison of her present self and her look from the year 2023, when she weighed approximately 20 kg more.

In the description, she made it clear that she was joyful in both photos, mentioning that losing weight wasn’t her intention, rather, it was just an outcome from embracing healthier lifestyle choices.

In my commitment to prioritizing wellness over aesthetics, I want to clarify that my journey is centered around HEALTH rather than SIZE. Many have inquired about my improved health status, which incidentally has led to weight loss. However, shedding pounds was not an intentional goal; it’s simply a beneficial side effect of focusing on my health and well-being.

Responding to allegations that she was following a crash diet, Jelena made it clear that she didn’t shed the pounds rapidly. Instead, she explained that she lost approximately 20 kilograms within a span of about 10 months, emphasizing that her weight loss wasn’t quick.

She mentioned that her family has a history of diabetes, and moreover, she has recently discovered that she has high blood pressure, which are reasons why she managed to lose weight.

Besides being occupied with the promotions, Jelena has been actively marketing the film version of her 2017 memoir titled “Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story.

2021 has been quite remarkable for her, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. Unfortunately, her father, Demir, passed away in May at the age of 67.

In the initial stages of her career, she endured intense mistreatment from her father, who happened to be her tennis coach as well.

She shared on Instagram that her connection with her father has been challenging and distressing, carrying a great deal of past experiences.

Regardless of the state of our relationship or the lack of communication over the past decade, losing a parent, especially a father, remains an incredibly challenging experience, even if we were estranged.

‘The loss of an estranged parent comes with a difficult and complicated grief.’

Jelena openly acknowledged that she harbored mixed and intricate feelings while posting an old picture of herself hugging her father, whom she hadn’t communicated with for a decade.

‘For the end of this chapter, I choose to focus on a good memory like this picture,’ she continued.
