In response to critics implying she used a crash diet, Dokic explained: “I didn’t shed pounds rapidly. Instead, it took me approximately 10 months to drop 20 kilograms. No quick fix here.
Dokic clarified that she had managed to shed some pounds due to her family having a tendency towards diabetes, along with her recent diagnosis of high blood pressure.
She also revealed exactly how she did it.
As a conscientious lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve adopted the habit of avoiding late-night meals, particularly indulgences such as burgers, pizza, fries, and desserts. These foods tend to leave me feeling sluggish upon waking, which can be problematic for my early morning work or travel routines involving flights.
‘So I don’t eat heavy meals at night anymore and I don’t eat after 7pm,’ wrote Dokic.
Nowadays, I’ve switched up my meals by opting for more salads and soups, such as a Caesar salad with chicken or a bowl of tomato soup with multigrain bread. These meals leave me feeling energized rather than sluggish, and they keep me satisfied too.
‘I drink more water now and I have cut back on soda, even diet soda.
In my commitment to healthier living, I’m making gradual adjustments rather than drastic ones. Although I indulge in the occasional cheeseburger and fries, it’s become far less frequent. Moreover, I abstain from eating junk food during work hours or when I’m traveling.
