Jeff Lewis, known for his show Bravo, sharply responded to criticism from former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Monica Garcia. Garcia had taken issue with a joke Lewis made about her supposedly receiving food stamps, calling it insensitive.
That day, Garcia used her Instagram Stories to respond to comments Lewis had made earlier at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, during a conversation with Andy Cohen.
Garcia responded to a post featuring his previous comments by saying he usually ignores false statements about himself. However, he felt compelled to speak out because of the hardship many families, single mothers, seniors, and Americans are currently facing, and he considers the situation to be deeply wrong.
‘F*** YOU,’ she added in a fury while tagging Lewis.
Garcia expressed extreme anger, using highly offensive language and accusing the other person of being elitist, entitled, and privileged.
According to Lewis’s representative, Jeff is pleased the government shutdown is over and that people will soon receive their full benefits, as told to the Daily Mail.

Representatives for Monica Garcia haven’t yet responded to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.
Lewis sparked a strong reaction from Garcia when he questioned Andy Cohen about a perceived shift in casting for the Real Housewives shows, suggesting producers were no longer prioritizing wealthy women. He then pointed to Garcia as an example of someone who didn’t appear to have the same level of wealth as other cast members.
‘Didn’t Monica Garcia’s food benefits just get frozen?’ he joked, according to Us Weekly.
I follow Queens of Bravo closely, and they were the first to share the comment, so I immediately saw it. They also reported that Andy wasn’t happy about it, which honestly didn’t surprise me.
According to the account, Cohen spoke in support of Garcia, calling her a key contributor to what he described as a successful season.
According to Us Weekly, Cohen clarified that wealthy women are a key part of the Real Housewives shows, but noted that the franchise has always featured people with significant financial resources.
During Friday’s BravoCon, Jeff Lewis – host of the SiriusXM radio show Jeff Lewis Live – once again made fun of Garcia for not having as much money as the other cast members, and suggested she relies on public assistance. This wasn’t the first time he’d made these comments.
According to Reality Tea, he allegedly claimed at BravoCon in 2023 that she was receiving food assistance and was three months behind on her car payments.

In an interview with The Messenger that same year, Lewis also stated that the Real Housewives shows don’t represent a lifestyle people should strive for. He implied that Garcia wasn’t a good fit for the show because she wasn’t as wealthy as most of the other cast members.
She might be someone viewers can connect with, but that’s not the point of watching Real Housewives. I don’t tune in because these women are relatable; I watch to see their over-the-top lifestyles, which are completely different from my own, explained the former Flipping Out star.
‘I find the Monica storyline to be depressing, frankly,’ Lewis added.
After working as an assistant to Jen Shah, a former cast member who was convicted of a crime, Garcia joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. She only appeared on the show’s fourth season, which premiered in 2023.
Even though she was only on the show for a short time, she made a bigger splash than many housewives who appear for years, thanks to a memorable storyline centered around the gossip blog Reality Von Tease.
Although the social media account didn’t have many followers, it gained attention for harshly criticizing the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast, often with specific details that hinted at a source with firsthand information.
During the season four finale, Heather Gay, a fellow cast member, gathered proof that Garcia was behind the anonymous online account “Reality Von Tease.” She then revealed this to the group during a dinner in Bermuda, leading Garcia to confess she was the one posting under that name.
