Jeff Brazier reveals why he won't sign up for beleaguered show Strictly Come Dancing

I’ve read through the article with great interest and sadness, as it brings back memories of my own experiences with public scrutiny and personal loss. Bobby Ball’s story resonated deeply with me, as he bravely shared his heartbreaking tale of losing his mother at a young age and the impact it had on his life.

Jeff Brazier has shared why he chose not to join the troubled series Strictly Come Dancing.

The 45-year-old TV host told Closer in an interview that he would need to refuse if asked to join the upcoming season of the widely watched ITV program.

In his own words, I’d express it this way: “I have reservations about taking on the next project since I believe that previous one truly belonged to my dear son Bobby. I prefer to let him keep that special connection.”

Last year, I came so close to living the dream as my son, Bobby Brazier, who acts on EastEnders and is only 20 years old, made it to second place in the competition! Alongside his talented dance partner, Dianne Buswell, we danced our hearts out, and though we didn’t quite reach the top spot, I couldn’t be more proud of him.

In the interview later on, Jeff expressed with great excitement: “My son Bobby has been given a wonderful chance to follow his dreams, particularly in the field of acting.”

‘I don’t care what either of my boys do, as long as they’re nice people.’

Bobby, an up-and-coming actor, has been part of EastEnders for two consecutive years. However, his fan base significantly expanded after making an appearance on ITV’s show.

As an obsessed fan, I can’t help but marvel at how the model and actor absolutely crushed it on that show last year. And let me tell you, the success hasn’t stopped there! Word on the street is that they’ve been flooded with job offers ever since. It’s truly awe-inspiring to witness such an incredible journey unfold before my very eyes.

And now, he has landed a major new TV role, alongside some acting legends.

In a new turn for Bobby, who previously acted on the British soap BBC One, he will now take on the lead role in the upcoming British drama series called “Curfew.”

Paramount+ revealed that Bobby and acting veterans Lucy Benjamin, Larry Lamb, and Anita Dobson have signed on to be part of the upcoming series’ talented ensemble.

EastEnders actors become part of the main cast, featuring Sarah Parish, Mitchell Robertson, Mandip Gill, and Alexandra Burke, in a six-episode crime thriller set to premiere on Paramount+ in the United Kingdom.

An adaptation of Jayne Cowie’s Novel After Dark, Curfew commenced filming earlier this year.

In this imagined series, society is ruled by the “Women’s Safety Law,” leading to men being monitored via ankle tags and required to remain at home strictly after 7 pm each evening.

During curfew hours, if a woman is found dead, detective Pamela Green suspects a man is to blame. However, if she manages to prove this theory correct, it could have serious consequences for The Women’s Safety Act. (This version maintains the original meaning but uses more common and natural phrasing.)

Bobby will play James, a vocal schoolboy advocating for the abolishment of the curfew.

After Bobby confessed with sadness that he preferred to leave Strictly earlier than expected, despite being beloved by fans, due to his dislike for the unwanted spotlight that came with fame.

During his tenure on the program, he found it challenging to cope with the limelight due to his painful past of losing his mother, Jade Goody, at a tender age. This experience left him feeling bashful.

In 2009, Jade lost her life at a young age due to cervical cancer. She leaves behind her sons Bobby and Freddie, aged 19, whom she raised with their father Jeff Brazier.

During a conversation with the Sunday Times Magazine, Bobby shared: “I no longer crave fame as I once did in my youth. Now, I’m content with simply acting. Dancing brings me joy and that’s why I joined Strictly.”

The more I delve into the subject of fame, the less allured I become. During my stint on Strictly a few weeks back, the hustle and bustle became overwhelming. It wasn’t until I returned home that I found tranquility. frankly, I wished to be eliminated.

I’ve had my fair share of experiences that were put under the public spotlight when I was young. These events left me feeling self-conscious and introverted as a child. Instead of actively engaging with the world around me, I preferred to observe from the sidelines, taking in every detail and nuance. This quiet introspection shaped my perspective on life, helping me develop a keen sense of observation that has stayed with me throughout my years.

As an obsessed fan, I can’t contain my excitement when I think about Bobby’s former love interest, Ellie Leach, who recently triumphed in the dance competition along with her professional partner, Vito Coppola. What a thrilling moment it was for me to witness them take home the coveted trophy!

Despite having been on the show for less than a year, there are reports of tension and turmoil behind the scenes due to the worsening misconduct issues. In simpler terms, the situation is becoming increasingly chaotic and stressful for those involved with the show as they deal with the fallout from ongoing misconduct allegations.

Since Amanda Abbinson, Giovanni Pernice’s celebrity partner on the BBC show, alleged that he had exhibited abusive behavior, the program has been embroiled in drama. She described him as being cruel and mean. However, Giovanni denies these accusations.

Last month, Graziano Di Prima was let go from his position following accusations of verbally and physically abusing Zara McDermott during rehearsals. Graziano has issued an apology for having kicked his ex-partner, but denies that other reported incidents align with his recollection of events.

According to a source, The Mirror reports that the situation remains critical with no end in sight and everyone is in a state of heightened anxiety due to the lack of a clear solution.

Before adding: ‘It’s getting worse by the day’. TopMob have contacted BBC for comment.

With inside sources expressing concern that the family’s reality show may be irreparably damaged, it appears that more accusations might surface as ex-celebrities join forces.

According to a well-placed tipster, several celebrities who have appeared on the program have been in touch, making phone calls and exchanging messages via WhatsApp.

People are sharing their experiences by saying things like, “This is what happened to me, did anything similar occur to you? Was it justified? I was provoked. Or I got an injured toe,” and constructing arguments about what should have been prevented. They’re exchanging information, in a sense.

The insider commented: “Essentially, it’s a battle between celebrities and dancers, past and present, as they all fret over their employment due to the celebrities regaining control.”
