Jeepers Creepers star Gina Philips makes her return to horror in The Monster

As a horror enthusiast who’s seen more than my fair share of chilling flicks, I must say, the latest casting news for Darren Lynn Bousman’s “The Monster” has me absolutely thrilled! The addition of Gina Philips, best known for her terrifying turn in “Jeepers Creepers,” is a masterstroke. Eight years off the screen? Pfft, she hasn’t lost her touch one bit!

Guess who’s next up to join Darren Lynn Bousman’s The Monster. It’s Jeepers Creepers star Gina Philips! This will be her first on-screen role in eight years, and we’re so glad that she chose a horror film as her comeback.

She has been added to the previously announced ensemble, which includes Djimon Hounsou, Lauren LaVera, and Mia Healey. While she is primarily recognized for her role as Trish Jenner in the horror movie “Jeepers Creepers,” Phillips has also made notable appearances in television series like “Ally McBeal,” “Boston Public,” and “Hawaii.

In addition to the existing cast of “The Monster”, U.S. rapper Jacob Lukas Anderson (also known as Prof), Alicia Witt, Neal McDonough, Michael Lombardi, David Call, Victor Del Rio, Cedric Benjamin, Zac Jaffee, Renés Rivera, Hari Bhaskar, and Kristina Krasniqi have recently joined. As of now, it’s unclear who will be portraying which characters in the movie, but we’ll keep you updated. Filming is currently taking place in Danbury, Connecticut.

Director Darren Lynn Bousman (of the Saw franchise) is taking on The Monster, a movie penned by writers Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer. In this project, Lee Nelson and David Tish of Envision Media Arts join Mark Burg, producer of the Saw series, as producers. Furthermore, Paramount’s Republic Pictures label has secured worldwide rights for the film.

Here’s the storyline for this movie: We delve into the lives of two young adults thriving in New York City by illegally leasing luxury apartments that aren’t theirs to unsuspecting renters. To start, their scheme operates flawlessly; however, they face a perilous predicament when they stumble upon an apartment owner concealing a disturbing past.
