Jean Smart, 74, proves she’s still got it as she holds hands with silver fox beau Joe Pacheco at Hacks premiere

Jean Smart looked incredibly elegant at the premiere of Hacks’ final season on Wednesday. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, Joe Pacheco, who perfectly complemented her stunning appearance.

The couple looked deeply in love as they walked the red carpet in Los Angeles, holding hands and beaming at each other like they were on a first date.

Dolly Parton, 74, looked stunning in a shimmering silver pantsuit paired with a white top and matching pointed heels. She completed her elegant look with pendant earrings and an updo hairstyle.

Her partner looked sharp in a light gray suit and blue shirt, and chose to go without a tie.

The Emmy-winning actress, who found love with Pacheco after the sad passing of her husband, Richard Gilliland, in 2021, was surrounded by her co-stars, including Hannah Einbinder, Megan Stalter, Paul W. Downs, Caitlin Reilly, Lauren Weedman, and Christopher McDonald.

The show’s co-creators, Jen Statsky and Lucia Aniello, were also among the attendees.

But the one responsible for the sparkle in Smart’s eye that evening was clearly Pacheco.

Smart has generally kept their relationship out of the public eye, but based on their Instagram posts, it appears they’ve been dating since late 2024.

Pacheco appeared to seal the deal by marking his Facebook status as ‘in a relationship.’

While accepting her second Golden Globe for her role as Deborah Vance in the HBO Max series Hacks, the actress publicly thanked her boyfriend by name.

She thanked ‘Joe’ for being part of the ‘support’ surrounding her.

In her acceptance speech, Smart said she felt incredibly fortunate – not just in the room, but within the entire industry – and wanted everyone to know how much she appreciated it.

I’m incredibly lucky to work with amazing bosses and showrunners, and to be surrounded by a fantastic cast, especially the talented Hannah Einbinder. Plus, I have the support of my kids, Joe, which means the world to me.

Their love story started during a difficult time, as the actress was still grieving the loss of her husband of many years, actor Richard Gilliland.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Gilliland. He and his wife had been married for 35 wonderful years before he unexpectedly passed away from a heart condition in 2021; he was 71. They were a loving family, and my heart goes out to his wife and their two sons, Connor, who’s 36, and Forrest, still just 17.

During an interview on ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?’, Smart described his death as ‘a complete shock’.

Losing my husband after 35 years—really, half my life—is something I can’t even begin to describe. For a long time, I just couldn’t accept it was real. It felt surreal and didn’t make any sense.

Smart has found happiness with her partner, Pacheco. They’ve been seen together at several high-profile events recently, including the Emmy Awards in September 2025, the Golden Globes on January 11th, a Roundabout Gala on March 9th, an Elton John Foundation Oscars viewing party on March 15th, and the premiere of Hacks.
