Jay-Z’s music video star Elizabeth Oveson weighs in after mogul was accused of raping girl, 13, with Diddy

Jay-Z's music video star Elizabeth Oveson weighs in after mogul was accused of raping girl, 13, with Diddy

As someone who has navigated the tumultuous waters of the entertainment industry for decades, I find myself deeply disheartened by the latest allegations against Jay-Z and Diddy. Elizabeth Oveson‘s perspective, as a former video vixen and memoirist, resonates strongly with me. The pattern she describes – one that links powerful men in various industries to abuse and exploitation – is all too familiar.

Elizabeth Oveson, known for her roles in Jay-Z’s video “Hey Papi” and author of the 2005 memoir “Confessions Of A Video Vixen,” has shared her thoughts following accusations that Jay-Z raped a 13-year-old girl alongside Diddy.

55-year-old Jay-Z and 55-year-old Diddy (Combs) were recently accused of sexual assault involving a 13-year-old girl, following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The accusation was made in a civil lawsuit filed on Sunday. However, Jay-Z has firmly denied these allegations.

In an email exchanged with The Daily Beast, Oveson described how the latest accusations against Jay-Z reflected a bigger pattern.

She detailed how the MeToo movement has played a role in the latest reckoning.

In simpler terms, Oveson stated that none of the recent events are surprising and they’re all interconnected in the broader context of the #MeToo campaign.

She said MeToo has led to a ‘chain reaction.’

As a lifestyle expert, allow me to express my perplexity: It’s puzzling to me why some people are isolating this recent wave of Black music executives and artists from the broader #MeToo movement. The truth is, the cases of figures like Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, and countless others in between—they all share a common thread.

In her autobiography, Karrine Steffans (also recognized as Oveson) asserted that she was involved romantically with Jay-Z and several other notable figures from the hip-hop community, as reported by The Daily Beast.

Previously, she asserted in her book that she was given to Diddy, as reported by The Daily Beast. However, when speaking to the outlet more recently about this matter, she stated emphatically that she was not among his victims.

In her recent conversation, she commented: “These individuals are well-connected, with only a few steps between them. They have similar advisors, attend the same social events, travel together on private planes, yachts, and private islands, and they operate under a shared, rule-breaking system.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but notice that the series of occurrences surrounding P. Diddy and now Carter aren’t just separate incidents, they’re two chapters in an intriguing saga.

And Oveson suspects there will be more people to fall from grace.

She stated there are ‘still hundreds more men to be accused, found guilty, and fall’, alongside women who were allegedly complicit.

She implied that Ghislaine Maxwell was not alone in her actions, saying: ‘Now that people comprehend fundamental terms like sexual, physical, and emotional manipulation and mistreatment, it’s my hope that those who abuse, regardless of gender, will be brought to justice across all professions.’

Following the civil lawsuit filed against Jay-Z in 2000, which accused him of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl after the MTV Video Music Awards alongside Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs on September 7, he has asserted that the accusation is false and instead, views it as an attempt at blackmail.

Jay-Z shares legal proceedings with Diddy, being mentioned together in one of the numerous lawsuits brought against Combs. Both musicians have refuted all accusations.

In September 2000, the alleged victim asserts that the incident occurred during a VMA’s afterparty, with an unknown female celebrity reportedly present as a witness.

Originally called “Celebrity A” in a shocking court document, the unidentified individual who suffered harm was previously associated with Jay-Z. Meanwhile, the female celebrity standing accused is referred to as “Celebrity B,” but her true identity remains concealed.

I, a devoted fan, shared Jay-Z’s statement published on DailyMail.com, where he fiercely refuted the allegations in the lawsuit by asserting that the accuser was trying to extort or ‘blackmail’ him.

The rapper expressed concern that his three kids with Beyoncé might face scrutiny or unwanted attention due to the accusations.

According to Jay-Z, he’s particularly concerned about Blue Ivy, who’s 12 years old now, as he fears she might encounter inquiries about the ongoing lawsuit from her peers. Additionally, they have twin children, Rumi and Sir, both aged 7.

‘My only heartbreak is for my family,’ Jay-Z told DailyMail.com on Sunday.

As a committed parent, I’ll need to address this delicate matter with my kids, especially the one who’s reaching an age when curiosity about the world is at its peak. She might encounter questions from her peers regarding recent events, and I’ll have to explain the harsh realities of human nature – how some individuals can exhibit cruelty and greed.

Jay-Z expressed sorrow over yet another shattering of innocence, stating that it is unfair for his children to face such explicit allegations at such a tender age.

He stated, “It’s unjust that we must strive to comprehend the unclear intentions of actions intended to shatter families and break the human spirit.

For over two decades, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been a dominant force in the R&B music scene. They tied the knot in April 2008, and six years later, in April 2014, they marked their union.

Meanwhile, Combs continues to stay at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, waiting for his trial on federal allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering, which he asserts are untrue.
