Jax Taylor said he doesn’t ‘believe in divorce’ before wife Brittany Cartwright filed to end couple’s five-year marriage

18 months back, the well-known reality TV personality from Shelby Township, Michigan (now aged 45), and her spouse Cartwright (currently 35), who share a three-year-old son named Cruz Michael Cauchi, openly discussed their thoughts on sustaining a strong marriage with People magazine.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I wholeheartedly embrace the sanctity of matrimony. Much like any significant relationship or commitment, my union with Cartwright, established in June 2019, is a journey filled with effort and growth. Following Cartwright’s comment about finding each day ‘wonderful’, Taylor, who had recently stayed at a treatment center during the summer, shared his perspective on marriage, stating that it involves a balanced exchange or reciprocity in a healthy relationship.

“Every now and then, we have our ups and downs, but that’s the dance of a lasting bond, and it only strengthens our connection more deeply,” I exclaim. “We pour our hearts into love, and we clash fiercely when disagreements arise. Yet, isn’t it extraordinary?”

Taylor referenced his parents, particularly his late father Ronald Cauchi and his estranged mother Marie Cauchi, as he shared insights into the values he holds regarding marriage.

‘My parents didn’t get divorced,’ Taylor said in the March 2023 interview.

During their conversation, Taylor mentioned that he and Cartwright, former co-stars from Vanderpump Rules, were very close friends. He also stated that Taylor is the only one who could tolerate him.

In my perspective, I thoroughly enjoy our companionship. To be frank, I can hardly envision my life without her by my side. Just as I previously mentioned, she complements me perfectly, like the perfect yin and yang, adding that touch of balance and completeness to my existence.

During our chat, Taylor mentioned that Cartwright possesses the necessary ‘patience’ and insight to balance his sometimes challenging personality – a fact he himself acknowledges.

Taylor expressed that he can be challenging to interact with, requiring a specific kind of individual to manage his complexities. Despite improvements in his life, he remains difficult to cope with.

‘I think she’s the only one that can put up with me really.’

During an interview with People, Cartwright expressed that having children played a significant role in maintaining the strength of their marriage. She explained, “Becoming parents not only strengthened us but also added to our bond. It’s heartwarming to see him as a dad, and it deepens my love for him even more.”

In a 2023 interview, Cartwright expressed that others might have underestimated their capacity for endurance in relationships.

Cartwright mentioned that when they first got married, people often predicted their relationship wouldn’t last long. However, they have been together for eight years now and are approaching their fourth year of marriage. He added that their relationship is still going strong.

In a podcast episode dated February 29, Cartwright admitted that she and Taylor had parted ways, as discussed on their show titled “When Reality Hits.”

In his latest podcast, Cartwright acknowledged that he hinted at the fact that many marriages encounter tough periods. Indeed, he admitted that marriage, in general, can be incredibly challenging and, to be specific, he has personally faced a very difficult year recently.

According to documents from the court, as reported by Dailymail.com, Cartwright stated that these differences could not be resolved as the reason for filing for divorce on Tuesday.

Cartwright, stating they split on January 24th, petitioned the court for primary legal and physical custody of their son, expressing she wouldn’t object to Taylor having visitation rights with the child.
